Personally, I have a hard time distinguishing Chinese cuisine from Taiwanese cuisine. When you mix these two in one table, I could instantly say its Chinese, probably because of the colonization issue that my senses would instantly think of that.
Like a chameleon, Taiwanese cuisine could be mistaken at times as Chinese but for those who are really into it would definitely say that Taiwanese does have that distinct and intense flavor when tasted.
My first immersion to Taiwanese cuisine was when I visited Taipei, Taiwan last year. I may say that I am not a food explorer but I tried my best back then to at least try what that country could truly offer. Day 5 is about the time for us to prepare on our flight back to Manila. Our flight back will be at 9 in the evening, this means we would need to be at the airport 3 hours before at least.
We got a few time to spare on that day and decided to pack our bags, check out early, leave our luggage at the hotel and visit two more picturesque places one should put in their list whenever they paid at visit in Taiwan: Chiang Kai Shek Memoral Hall & P.S. Bubu Café.
The scenery felt like I was in a fantasy movie, where the Queen was totally mad at the Princess for taking away the Fairy Shoe. The Queens wrath resulted for the whole kingdom to be in a gloomy state, coupled with rain and harsh waves.
I imagine it while looking at the amazing stone formation of Yehliu Geopark. It was a gloomy weather when we visited but still, the experience was somewhat magical.

Using my google maps, we head on our way to our next destination. Google told us that there was an ancient street found near our place. Exactly 1.1 km away from our hotel. Equivalent to at least 12-15 minutes walk.
Bopiliao Old Street is a place where visitors can see well-preserved streets and traditional shop homes from the Qing period.
