GSK Orange Day revisits Gawad Kalinga village in Sagay, Negros Occidental

In 2015, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Philippines donated 50 houses to Gawad Kalinga (GK) for residents of Sagay in Negros Occidental who were left homeless by Typhoon Haiyan.

GSK believes in Gawad Kalinga’s model of shared contribution and accountability, making sure that its partnership with the community would not only be about handing over the 50 houses for some of the residents of Sagay but to also help ensure that a sustainable community health approach would be in place.

I have tried smoking before and my parents didnt know that ( I think), but I did it all because of peer pressure. I remember the time that me and my college friends sneak out of the back of the school just to loiter at a store and talk and smoke. I never liked it and I do believe that it can only destroy not just the environment but most specially our body. My parents are both smokers and I totally disagree with thier vices. And I constantly tell them to stop, and to not wait for the complications to come in before deciding to let cigaretes go.

GlaxoSmithKline, one of the world’s leading research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare companies and maker of doctor-recommended Paracetamol Calpol, joins forces with the Department of Health and the Philippine Pediatric Society in spearheading a campaign called “Aksyon Laban sa Dengue: A Dengue Fever Awareness and Education Program” as well as a Barangay Caravan that will bring dengue fever awareness efforts to the grassroots level.

The World Health Organization has recommended Paracetamol as the preferred and only recommended analgesic treatment for Dengue Fever. Aspirin or ibuprofen is not advised as these drugs may aggravate bleeding.
