A different world at Yehliu Geopark

The scenery felt like I was in a fantasy movie, where the Queen was totally mad at the Princess for taking away the Fairy Shoe. The Queens wrath resulted for the whole kingdom to be in a gloomy state, coupled with rain and harsh waves.

I imagine it while looking at the amazing stone formation of Yehliu Geopark. It was a gloomy weather when we visited but still, the experience was somewhat magical.

The Ruins at Kangding Road (Bopiliao Old Street + The Red House)

Using my google maps, we head on our way to our next destination. Google told us that there was an ancient street found near our place. Exactly 1.1 km away from our hotel. Equivalent to at least 12-15 minutes walk.

Bopiliao Old Street is a place where visitors can see well-preserved streets and traditional shop homes from the Qing period.

As soon as 12mn struck that night, our door bell rang and Ruth insinuated me to open the door. She once again setup a surprise celebration. It wasn’t that fancy but I really appreciated the thought of checking in the hotel restaurant, sourcing out and collaborating with the hotel staff just to have wine and chocolates on that night. Elephant Mountain, Is it worth the climb? (Day 1 – MOCA & Huashan 1914, Taipei City)

Our day 1 in Taipei were almost cut in to half wandering the huge hotel we stayed it. I did not regret doing so for the Hotel it self was already an exploration. After having our brunch, we decided to go out and explore the city.

And because this will be our first day of exploration, we already thought that it will still take some time to familiarize ourselves with the ways of the people, directions as well as the transportation system. With a very flexible itinerary we had, we decided to explore the center part of the city first – we visited Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Datong District, Taipei City.
