It was not too long ago when the song “Kumapit ka lang” composed by Noemi Ocio and Interpreted by Mela was hailed as last years, grand winner. This time, the 12 ‘A Song of Praise’ (ASOP) Music Festival Finalists have already been announced and in just a few days one lucky composer will again take home Php 500,000 cash prize. In the early ’90, there was this trend introduced that become a talk of the town, that is converting your normal TV into a more wider channel reach by having a satellite disk installed in your house. It was like a status symbol in the community just like owning a new iPhone 8 today. Cable connectivity started and families were craving for it. I remember how I was so fond of switching channels and even have the time to watch foreign TV shows and movies even I do not understand it. It was a big change in the entertainment category and sure did made a mark in every home. Up to now, cable connectivity has evolve to fit in the ever changing market.
A very promising start I could say as Cignal TV, through its SARI SARI Channel, brings us a brave and bold TV series about the lives of aswangs in “Tabi Po”.
TV production isn’t new to me (being able to work on different TV shows up to now), and I could really say that “Tabi Po” TV series really sets the bar high in producing a quality Filipino TV show.
Movie fans have their own ways of enjoying a film. One could immerse himself with an action field movie sitting on a nice comfy couch, some could enjoy it in a moving seat, while the others look for comfort coupled with a more crisps movie quality.
If you were anticipating to watch a movie that is high in graphic effects I would suggest for you to see it on an IMAX screen. Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok could be a good example to what I am saying.
I still remember how I have been a part of the show “Spotlight” producing it for the very first time. Back then (I cannot remember what year that was), I was given the opportunity to work with two hosts, my friend and co-worker Atty. Regie Tongol and William Thio himself, who I have been introduced to for the very first time. As I remember, the introductory episode was to feature the lives of the two hosts. It was then followed by an interview with the former president of Philippine University of the Philippines. Then we did a trip to Laguna to feature Enchated Kingdom’s owner Cesar Mario Mamom.
