Looking for things to do in Virginia Beach? Check out our list of the top 10 things to do in Virginia Beach!
From swimming and sunbathing on the beach to exploring the Boardwalk and visiting the Virginia Aquarium, there’s something for everyone in Virginia Beach! It was my second time visiting this state for the reason that half of my family lives in the area. And because on my second visit I was able to stay here for 6 months, I definitely had enough time to explore the place.
Virginia Beach is mostly suburban with a few high-rise buildings near the beach. I personally stayed with my sister’s family in Chesapeake City, which is about 20 minutes away from the beach.
Nevertheless, on this list of top 10 things to do in Virginia Beach I will be including both tourist attractions as well as local favorites that we residents like to do!

Swim and sunbathe on the beach
The Virginia Beach coastline stretches for 35 miles, making it one of the longest in the world. With so much shoreline to enjoy, it’s no wonder that swimming and sunbathing are two of the most popular things to do in Virginia Beach! The water is warm and inviting in the summer months, and there are plenty of places to relax on the sand.
One that we visited is called Little creek beach located near the Naval base. From what I’ve heard, it’s an exclusive beach dedicated to the military & their family. It was my first time visiting a beach in Virginia and I must say the experience was quite relaxing. The water was clean, not too salty and the sand was just right (not too coarse).

Explore the Boardwalk
Stretching for 3 miles along the oceanfront, the Virginia Beach Boardwalk is a great place to take a leisurely stroll, go for a run, or just people-watch. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants lining the boardwalk, so you can stop for a bite to eat or do some souvenir shopping. It could have been nice if we could ride the Virginia Beach Ferris wheel for some stunning views of the city, unfortunately, it closed due to the pandemic.
