Giving us new exciting offers this 2021, realme Philippines launches its newest smartphone suited for the mid-range market specifically for people looking for a photography-centric smartphone that is handy, convenient, and of course got a powerful camera – the new realme 8 series.
The realme 8 Series includes the realme 8 Pro, a premium 108MP smartphone designed primarily for photography enthusiasts and content creators, and the realme 8, its equally impressive mid-range counterpart to suit every Filipino’s gaming and digital needs.
I was able to get my hands to one of the units weeks before its official launch and I can say just like its predecessor the realme 8 pro is definitely something you should consider when picking a powerful smartphone at the midrange price.
In this blog, will share with you the basic capabilities of realme 8 Pro along with some photo and video samples.
Realme 8 Pro is a low-cost smartphone intact with amazing specs. It is available in two colors; Infinite Black and the one I got the Infinite Blue. It got a really nice overall look with an added “dare to leap” logo that uses a special fluorescent material that absorbs light and emits a magical glow in low light, making it shine at night, giving us, users, that very youthful and trendy vibe. It’s an eye-catcher and definitely meant to turn heads.
realme 8 Pro is super slim and light with a 6.4 super Amoled Fullscreen and snapdragon 720G processor. It comes with a jelly case for drop or bumps protection. And I personally like the emboss square camera lens, it just got this character though a bit prone from scratches or bumps. All the buttons are located on the right side and the speaker, earphone jack, and micro-USB slot at the bottom of the phone.
The unit comes with a 50W Super Dart Charger and is capable of giving us a 0 to 50% battery life for only 17 minutes, or 0-100% for 47 minutes. That is insanely fast! The realme 8 Pro also features 4,500 mAh battery enabling the device to help us enjoy digital activities from work to leisure activities.
Now let’s try out the camera, which is basically the very main reason why we would be choosing to purchase this unit.
realme 8 Pro’s highlight is its 108MP camera featuring Samsung’s HM2 camera sensor producing images as good as a photo taken using a Mirrorless Camera. The quad-camera is complemented by advanced camera features for even more options in the creative process.
Let’s put on a test and see the camera’s capability.
This ultra-wide is actually perfect for landscape and wide images though it got some little distortion on the sides.
Swiping your camera to the left will let get access to a 1x camera which is the standard camera when using the realme 8 pro. If you want to zoom it in use the 3x ultra zoom or for a much closer look at the subject swipe it again to go to 5x.
I love that even I zoom it in, the details are still rich and maintain their colors. Though I find that bright-lighted images become too saturated most of the time. I tried taking photos of my pets indoor and love how it turned out. The portrait shot separated the subject to the background nicely.
For a much more detailed image, you can use the 108mp or try the expert mode where you can adjust the ISO, focus, and such.
Taking videos using the pro 8 gives us an edge compared to the others, The realme 8 Pro also features the first tilt-shift video mode in the Philippines perfect for landscapes and architectural shots — achieving images as good as photos taken using mirrorless cameras. Add to that the ultra-steady mode perfect for vloggers or taking shots while on the road.
It also features realme’s iconic starry mode, with the improved time-lapse feature to capture the beauty of the night sky.
Realme 8 and 8 Pro Price and Discounts!
Coming in the 8+128GB storage variant for both realme 8 and 8 Pro, the realme 8 Pro will be available for a suggested retail price of P16,990, while the realme 8 will be available for a suggested retail price of P13,990. Both the realme 8 series offerings will be exclusively available at P1,000 off during the Lazada flash sale on May 12.
From May 13 onwards, the realme 8 will be available for purchase at regular price in all realme ecomm platforms, concept stores, kiosks, and partner dealers nationwide. The realme 8 Pro, on the other hand, will only be available from May 22 onwards. Pre-orders made for the realme 8 Pro from May 11-22 will come with a free realme Buds Air Pro worth P4,990.
In addition, flexible payment plans are also available for the realme 8 Series.
