Navigating the new Features of the ASUS ZENBOOK DUO 14 (UX 482)

What can we expect from the new ASUS ZenBook Duo UX 482? Keep on reading and will dive deeper into this new unit.  

The new ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 brings major improvements that give you the ideal dual-screen laptop experience for multitasking and light content creation. I was amazed at how this unit has improved compared to its predecessor. Aside from its performance, I also enjoyed the new features this unit has brought to us especially the new ScreenPad Plus.

The new ScreenPad Plus makes multitasking incredibly easy. It includes the new ScreenXpert 2 software that gives a more fluid workflow that makes everything you do effortlessly. 

The fresher design of the Control Center is now more intuitive. The Control Center bar contains handy items that can help you get up and running instantly. It is snappier and users can easily adjust the location of the Control center either right, left, or bottom. You can even minimize the control Center to become a floating button or auto-hide it entirely. 

Initially, The Control Center includes Brightness, App Navigator, Link to MyASUS, Keyboard lock/Unlock, Back to Desktop, Task Group, Launcher, and Settings. This is fully customizable and can be adjusted to your liking. 

The 4 dots inside the control center are called the Launcher Icon. Here you can access all the applications you added. If you like to add a new application inside the Launcher, simply drag the icon to the launcher. The Task Group function is also located inside the launcher. This is a feature where you can open up to 6 different applications at the same time with a single tap. You can customize and even color-code your different tasks to even improve your workflow. I personally love this feature for it gives me extra time by eliminating the hassle to arrange and open each application one by one. 

If the small touchpad at the side wouldn’t suffice your need, you can activate the second screen to be your touchpad area. Simply do a three-finger tap to activate this feature to temporarily make the ScreenPad your touchpad. This is also perfect for lefthanded users. 

Moving around two screens is made easy just by simply activating the Windows Flick, this is done by dragging apps up or down to switch from your primary to a secondary screen. 

If you prefer a more precise way to control your applications, you can use the App Switcher. The App Switcher can let you choose which part of the screen you like to put a certain application. 

The ViewMax function is another favorite because it can let me maximize both screens. Just simply drag then click on the VeiwMax button (X) to make the application spread on both screens, giving me a more seamless view with the large combined display.

Task Swap simply swaps all applications between the Main and ScreenPad Plus. It can be done by simply clicking the icon on the control center or pressing the hotkey at the keyboard. It is very helpful if ever you’re doing two things at the same time and wanting to focus on a particular application, hence moving it to the bigger screen.  

In the App Navigator, you can simply manage open apps on both screens and switch applications from the mains screen to ScreenPad plus and vice versa.

The ScreenXpert 2 also includes great utilities from our favorite Adobe Applications. The Control Panel is an ultrapowerful tool that is precise and intuitive control in the main screen. The initial applications that enable you to use this function include Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Lightroom Classic. It’s a touch base tool and is fully customizable. 

Link to MyASUS gives me a phone function on my laptop. Through this, I can make or receive phone calls on the laptop. I can even check my call history or use the keypad to dial. Link to MyASUS can also mirror my ASUS phone and let me navigate my phone through the laptop. 

Other personalization can be done at the settings. You can even pick a dark or light theme depending on your preference. There are many ways to do it to help you achieve the best workflow you wanted.
