Using this for more than two weeks already I was finally able to get used to it. Though setting it up to my liking has taken much of the time, getting used to it would be a bit shorter with daily usage.
Of course, the main highlight and the most eye-catching part of this laptop would be the second screen display known as the ScreenPad Plus. The ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 has a new hinge design that lifts the 12.6-inch ScreenPad Plus by up to 7 degrees, and the laptop itself off of the desk. This improved ergonomic angle and a brightness bump to 400 nits on the ScreenPad Plus can avoid screen reflections and improve the touch screen experience as well.

And to make it more intuitive, a new and improved ScreenXpert UI is placed along with different shortcuts and several apps making it more interactive between the two screens. Will discuss more of this in the next article.
Improvements were also made at the new Control Center UI. Location can be adjusted to either right, left, or bottom and it is now snappier. You can even minimize it to a floating button or even enable the auto-hide function to hide it entirely. Buttons on the new Control Center taskbar can also be added or moved to allow for customization.
One of the best features that really accelerate workflow is the new Contol Panel app. Working as a video editor and social media content creator, having this kind of application on the laptop is such a big help. It just makes tools and presets at reach. Add to that the touchscreen features of the new Control Panel app are just like a physical mixer embedded on the laptop, making workflow better and time-efficient.
Currently, this function supports Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Lightroom Classic. When you activated this feature, once you open the apps, the Control Panel app opens a corresponding panel suited to each software set. This can be customized depending on your need.
And to make workflow more fluid especially for graphic designers/artists, you can also use the ASUS Pen included when you purchase.
The ZenBook Duo 14 (UX 482) also has an improved airflow of up to 49%. Thanks to the unique Active Aerodynamics System Plus (AAS+) making the touchscreen an integral part of the cooling system. You’ll notice this as you open the laptop, the secondary display rises up giving us a better view compared to its predecessor. At the same time, the laptop’s ErgoLift design tilt itself up from the desk, allowing us to type comfortably and increases the ventilation space. With the AAS Plus design, the laptop can sustain the performance we needed for multi-tasking and light content creation workflow.
But of course, the secondary screen is not what you are going to look at all the time, the main display is gorgeous to the eyes as well. It’s a 14” LED-backlit Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) and can get up to 400 nits of brightness. The vibrant screen can be more appreciated while watching movies or YouTube videos. It is also Pantone Validated for color accuracy and has a TUV Rheinland Certification.
The ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 (UX 482) is powered by up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor making multitasking to both screens light and easy. Add to that, the NVIDIA GeForce MX450 graphics in ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 can also deliver smooth visuals and performs quite well in both photo and video editing.
Most importantly, because I’m always on the go, I’m delighted to know that ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 is 3mm thinner than the previous generation. Who doesn’t love to bring a powerful device that is light and handy? This unit only weighs 1.6kg, 16.9 mm thin, and can last up to 17 hours of battery life. A single charge would be enough to last you for a whole day’s work. Drops or bumps on the device wouldn’t be a worry, thanks to its ultra-tough-military grade durability (US Military Grade MIL-STD-810H).
And because connectivity is important, ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 has improved its WiFi with a built-in dual-band Intel® AX201 WiFi 6 (802.11ax) wireless network card that offers speeds of up to 2.4 Gbps and can provide up to 3X-higher throughput and 4X the network capacity of WiFi 5 (802.11ac).
With WiFi SmartConnect it can let your laptop automatically connect to the router with the best signal in the current environment. It also memorizes the mobile hotspots you connect to and prioritizes connections to them when they‘re detected.
Transferring files to and from another device or charging are made easy, thanks to ASUS ZenBook DUO 14 comprehensive high-performance I/O ports that includes the latest thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 1 x full-size HDMI 1.4, 1 x 3.5 mm audio jack and 1 x MicroSD Reader. I love the variety of ports that eliminate the need to buy extra cords to connect my gadgets.
With such a powerful device, the ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 is definitely a multitaskers best friend that would give you the power to be in command with your desired workflow.
The ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 is priced at Php 79,995 for the 11th Gen Intel Core i5 models with Intel EVO certified, Iris Xe Graphics, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD, while the 11th Gen Intel Core i7 model with NVIDIA MX450 dedicated graphics, 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD is priced at Php99,995.
