A character of a person is a very important factor I always look into especially if I’d be adding a new member to the workplace. Acting as a former Executive Producer and Supervisor on a Creative Team, I think I was able to attain the skill unknowingly of assessing a person if he or she fits for the job. But due to the fact that I do not really have proper training about these things, I do believe that putting a name into it or even knowing exactly the science behind it can truly help me improve not just myself but the whole team.

An Enneagram is a sense-making tool or a framework that enables the development of self-knowledge and meta-awareness. It is a powerful tool used in the development and coaching environment and has different individual, team, and even organizational benefits.
I’ve only learned about this a few months ago, when a friend of mine, who is a Psychologist, recommended me to take the test. I was amazed at how the result was almost accurate to my personality and I felt it could have been nice if my former team has taken it as well.
A few days ago, Globe has sent an invitation to me about a webinar that would focus on developing better team dynamics and culture in both office and business.
The webinar was entitled “Teamwork makes the Dream Work” led by Social Entrepreneur and Formator, Guido Sarreal, it was joined by Ms. Vicky Marquez from Globe and Patch Dulay, the Founder & CEO of The Spark Project.
In the webinar, Mr. Sarreal explained the importance of being aware of who we are as a person and how we as individuals work in our environment to make teamwork.
Before the webinar, all the attendees were actually asked to take the Enneagram test. Here is what I got.
The result shows that I am a type 5 (Investigator) with only a difference of 1 point as a type 9 (Peacemaker). Honestly speaking, I am a mix of the two types, so I can say that I can truly relate to the result. I would not be stating all of the information here about Type 5 and Type 9, but I suggest you take the exam as well personally so you would know what type of personality you have.
But the big question here is, after knowing the result, How can you use the enneagram for teamwork to work? How can we make it better in the team?
To answer that, Mr. Sarreal, concluded that all boils down to being aware. The more aware we are the easier for us to know the right people to tap into the job.
