I’ve been a patron of this brand for quite a long time already. Actually it was introduced to me by a friend who’s into eating dumplings and milk teas. I felt in love with the brand instantly and visited the place as much as I can especially that one of the branches is just a few meters away from the house.
But actually, I never really heard anything from them in terms of expansions and or innovating new ideas not until a few days ago, when I was invited to try and visit the newly re-opened branch located in Banawe, Quezon City.
Continue reading and will tell you more about it.
Now which one to try first?
Most diners might not know it but “ER-SAO” actually is a set of Chinese words which means “wife of the second eldest brother in the family” (or second sister-in-law) – such a long translation for a short name right? haha! Anyway, this was a reference to the family placement of the founder and President, Ms. Joy Yao, previously a restaurant owner from Taiwan who has since lived in the Philippines.
Look at a new logo!

Historically, Ersao Banawe in Quezon City was the very first branch that opened in June 2000. Currently having more than 30 branches all over the Philippines, the company decided to innovate and introduce a more inviting ambiance with the re-opening of the 2nd Banawe branch that adapts an updated brand logo and a modern interior.
Welcome to ERSAO version 2.0.
Yummy! Sakto sa Mirienda!

On my visit, I was able to taste some of their most sought after products including of course milk teas! I actually didn’t know that they serve more than dumplings hahaha I was overwhelmed with the choices they have here.
Full Taiwanese meal for today.
Ersao serves us one of their bestsellers – Signature Beef Noodles – a large serving of thick noodles, a rich broth, and braised beef. We also had the so-called Soybathe Dumplings, which is a freshly steamed delicacy bathing in a special soy sauce.
We also had Spicy Squid, Sesame Oil Chicken Mishua, Taiwan Beef Rice, Savory Seafood Pancake, and Pork Chao Fan.
Of course, I would not let that day pass by without having their freshly made milk teas. I am a fan of the classic Pearl Milk Tea, but I tried this time the Passion Fruit Green Tea and the Thai Milk tea with pearl. They also have Filipino-inspired flavors such as Avocado and Buko Pandan, which I opted not to try because I am already so full. Maybe on my return.
Anyway, try and visit the newly opened branch and let me know which one is your favorite.
