Richmonde Hotel could be the suited place for you to stay if you are either on a business trip or vacation here at the Philippines City of Love – Iloilo. I was able to stay at this hotel for three days and it did give me that feeling of wanting to just stay in and never go out. Well, a bad thing I can say for staying in a beautiful hotel. Nevertheless, its location is just perfect for some local attractions and business sites are just minutes away from the property.

From the airport, a shuttle service where already arrange to bring us to the hotel. Iloilo Airport is now located outside the city, taking 40 to an hour drive going to the city center. And when we arrived at the Hotel a courteous staff welcomed us on our stay.
We picked this hotel for the following reasons:
- The Hotel is known for supporting sustainable products which is in line with I believe in to as well.
- In line with Iloilo City’s anti-smoking ordinance 2016-150, Richmonde Hotel Iloilo is a smoke free hotel. Favorable specially for me who is someone who’s against smoking.
- And most importantly, location and value for money
We arrived at the hotel 4 hours earlier from our check in time. It was so nice that the hotel management decided to give us a wash room area where we can settle down while waiting for our room to be available.
This also gave us time to relax for a bit and explore the vicinity.

I was amazed on how generous the space of our room was, here in Richmonde Hotel. It was a Premier Suite, with two full size bed. Actually, this room is perfect for a bigger size family or friends, because an extra bed can still be squeeze in on the available space.
When we arrive in our room, a welcoming gift are also set in our bedroom and a complimentary ensaymada was prepared for our Merienda.

Richmonde Hotel Amenities
At the 7thfloor of Richmonde Hotel, some of the hotel facilities can be found. Here you will find the outdoor swimming pool with pool deck, the fitness center as well as the three function rooms that can accommodate approximately a hundred people in total.
On our stay the pool became one of my favorite place to hang for aside from the picturesque skyline, the pool offers a refreshing resort vibe in the heart of the city. I also love that the place becomes too windy at times perfect whenever I would want to rest and do siestas.
The pool is open at 6am to 9pm, daily.
The fitness center on the other hand is open 24 hours. It may be a bit small compare to other hotels but the gym is well equipped with the necessary machines you’d be needing.
At the center of the 5thfloor, a lounge is readily available for anyone who would want to entertain guest and/or have a quick meeting with associates. This area is pretty quiet most of the time, perfect for reviewing or maybe reading a book or two.
Buffet Breakfast at the Granary
Hotel breakfast is one of the things I usually look forward to in a hotel staycation. I consider it a big factor in making a decision when booking a hotel specially if I would be paying a bit much compare to the others.
Luckily, Richmonde Hotel Iloilo did not disappoint. The variety and the taste simply surpass my expectations. And they did not just put the food there, it was well arranged to not just fill our tummy but also our eyes. I also love that Richmonde, have come up with themes and ideas to serve, making your dining a different experience every day.
Breakfast Buffet is served at the Granary located at the ground floor.
In one of the days of our stay, we were invited to try their Valentine Italian Buffet Dinner, where the Granary served different Italian dishes paired with White and/or Red Wine.
We were told that The Granary was fully booked on that night. Actually, when we came in, there are some guests who are still asking if there would be seats available. I guess dinner buffet just became more exciting than breakfast, that the ambiance of the place becomes more lovely at night.
At the 7thFloor, the Zabana Bar is located that offers refreshing drinks and cocktails.
Things to do Around the Hotel
One of the reasons why I love staying here in Richmonde is its accessibility. The hotel is located in the developing area of Megaworld Blvd. It is somehow like a small BGC in Iloilo City. Just besides the hotel you will find the Iloilo Convention Center. A few walks, the Festive Walk Mall can be found, and across it, a transport hub where you can find buses heading to Antique, Caticlan and other provinces. The Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Arts and other restaurants are also accessible within the area.
Should you try it?
A few more things you need to know. The 24-hour hotel personnel are super helpful and accommodating specially when we were asking directions on how to go around the city and nearby towns. Transportation, currency exchange and luggage storage may also be arranged for guests at the reception.
Deluxe Room usually starts at Php 4,000 (USD 80) per night and could go higher depending in the season. With that amount against its location, superb service, comfortable room and sumptuous buffet breakfast, Richmonde Hotel Iloilo is definitely a hotel worth visiting specially on your next trip to Iloilo city.
I had a really wonderful time staying at this hotel. There was actually a moment where we were already too lazy to go out of it. That I rather stay comfy in bed. Should I recommend you to try and stay here? Definitely yes! Aside from what is already obvious, I guess what really set this hotel apart is its excellent hospitality, you should personally experience.
