Visiting The Million Bulb Walk at the Norfolk Botanical Garden, Virginia #NBGLights2019

Virginia’s Largest Botanical Garden transforms in the evening and it is even brighter as soon as the sunsets.

On my visit to my family here in Virginia Beach, they decided to bring me to their favorite park here called Norfolk Botanical Garden. This Botanical Garden which is considered as the largest Botanical Garden to be found in Virginia is situated just next to Norfolk International Airport, minutes from Downtown Norfolk and Virginia Beach.

The Million Bulb Walk at the Norfolk Botanical Garden-15

With my niece, Alysiah, in one of the installations.

My mom was actually telling me that they have visited this site for quite some time since she stays here but has not really gone to this place at night. Making it just suited for us to try and visit the place this season. From November 8, 2019, to December 14, 2019, the attraction The Million Bulb Walk would be open to the public from 4 pm to 9 pm daily and closes at 10 pm.

There is actually a lot of installation that I was not able to take photo with and can be more appreciated when you see it.

On its 25th Anniversary, Norfolk Botanical Garden aims to make The Million Bulb Walk be the Best Botanical Holiday Lights this 2019. Visitors here can walk through the million-holiday lights to experience the magic of the holidays or drive in the comfort of their car during the Dominion Energy Garden of Lights drive-through. The event route is approximately a mile long and is accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, and mobility assistance devices. At the end of the route, there is a tram that will take guests back to the parking lot. Here are some schedules that might interest you to join:

Drive through Dominion Energy Garden of Lights
Dec. 15 through Dec. 31, 5:30-10 PM nightly.

Register to run at the Garden 2.020 Fun Run
Jan. 1, 4-7 PM.

Walk with your canine companion at Barks & Bulbs
Jan. 3 & 4, 5-9 PM.

It was too cold and windy when we visited but it did not hinder us in enjoying the view. All of the visitors can actually enjoy the Garden’s 175 spectacular acres. We didn’t really expect that a lot of people would be there on the day of our visit that is why even though online ticket purchasing is possible, we decided to just buy our tickets upon our arrival. Here are the ticket prices:
