If you suddenly miss the provincial kind of life but would not want to be that far from the city, The Cabin Resorts in San Miguel, Bulacan could be a suitable place that you could visit. Just less than 2 hours away from Manila, this very private space is actually located in the middle of farmland. Exciting right? From Manila to The Cabin Resort in San Miguel, Bulacan
We left the city around 10 in the morning. According to Waze, it will take us 1 hr and 45 mins to arrive in San Miguel, Bulacan from SM North EDSA. Including the transfer from the meet-up point going to the venue, the whole journey will roughly take 2 hours.
At one of the Cabins here at the Cabin resorts
According to the owner Ginno Cruz, it is advisable to bring an SUV for better transportation. But if guess doesn’t have one, the resort is offering a pick-up service at the Gulf Gas Station, where you can also park your vehicle for the length of your stay.
Upon arriving at the Gulf Station and meeting up with Ginno, It then took us a 10-15 mins drive to arrive at the Cabin Resort. It was a really rough and muddy drive, and his white Strada looks like it came from a mudslide after the drive. I was told that the local government has been building new roads in this area but will still take a few more months to finish.
With our short conversation, I was able to know that the cabin resort here in San Miguel, Bulacan was actually a re-opening of the former cabin located in Baliug, Bulacan. This new area got more space and cabins to cater to more guests. The former is now currently closed for private use only for their relatives and friends.
The Loft-Style Cabins
Upon arrival, we were greeted with a cold towel and welcome drinks at the reception area. All the staff was wearing this tucked white shirt like the ones worn by scouts. Outside, welcoming signage with “The Cabin Resorts“ logo can be found. Right after signing some papers, we were provided with biodegradable toothbrushes. The resort is encouraging guests to bring their own shampoo, soap, and toothpaste in a reusable container.
The cabins were located just a hundred or fewer steps from the reception area and because we were only five, we decided to stay in one cabin.
Each cabin can accommodate 6 to 8 people. It is fully made from wood and is elevated from the ground. The lower area, has a lounge, dining, and a veranda facing the man-made lake. The veranda was actually one of my favorite areas here (after the bedroom), overlooking the farmland where you can do fishing or just be seated on the wooden chairs to meditate or reflect. Inside, they have used huge mirrors to make the room look more spacious. It got huge windows too that give enough lighting during the day. Overall, the whole space got a very peaceful and homey vibe.

They uses prime materials. Chairs and tables looks very sturdy it could last for years.
Those huge mirror just made this small space looks really big
Upstairs, you’ll find a cozy attic bedroom with two small double size beds. And because we are more than 4, we requested an additional bed which was then placed at the flooring.
When we visited the place, there were already 3-cabins available for rent. As I was told and to what i’ve seen in the floor plan, there would be more rooms available soon.
Ginno also shares that they are advocates of sustainability, hence they have made it possible to make 40% of the place powered by solar energy.
The Cabin Resorts In-House Restaurant
I wasn’t really able to ask if the guest is allowed to bring food when they check-in (but I think you can). The resort doesn’t have a nearby restaurant or convenience store. But do not worry, because there is an in-house restaurant that can give guests decent food. The Cabin Resorts’ in-house restaurant is located at the end of the property just across the infinity pool. The restaurant offers Filipino foods like bulalo, sinigang, bagnet and likes. They also have kinds of pasta, grilled items, sizzlers, and snacks. All-day-breakfast also comprises of the usual tapsilog, longsilog, bangsilog variants. Mains are usually for sharing so I guess preparing at least Php 250 to Php 500 per head when dining would be enough.

As they said it the muddier and dirtier the more fun it would be for the ATV ride.
The pool looks really awesome during nighttime. This photo was taken using my new Real me XT smartphone.
The archery was set up upon our request. This could be a really fun bonding moment with friends.
I was a bit afraid and worried at this kayak ride for it was a bit wobbly, that a simple imbalance could make me fall into the water.
