Looking for an affordable all-Filipino buffet restaurant in Mandaluyong City? Well, you just got lucky, because Lola Maria restaurant is here to offer you a sumptuous buffet that is just right in the pocket. Located inside The Legend Villas, this hidden Filipino themed restaurant exudes sophistication through its wooden structures. It may be a bit intimidating to go in at first but I will assure you that you will feel at home once you’re seated.
I was able to try dining here a few weeks ago when a friend invited me over to try it. Looking at far, The Legend Villas is already noticeable due to its look and location. It has a really grand entrance that feels like you were entering a hacienda. And with unique structure, the place is already a standout in between tall buildings. As I was told nearby offices usually dine in this place specially during meetings and/or celebrations.
Just a little history, it was Dona Maria Florentine Villanueva Rosario – the inspiration behind Lola Maria Restaurant, that happens to be the maternal grandmother of Legend Hotels International Corporation chairman Wyden R. King. She was born on September 11, 1901, in Vigan to then-Governor Jose Florendo Villanueva and his wife, Maria Florentine.
Lola Maria Buffet Restaurant
Lola Maria Buffet Restaurant could somehow feel like a fiesta or celebration highlighting Filipino dishes spread out in the middle of the place. The restaurant got a sitting capacity of up to 160 heads and is open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. The ambiance is very homey with big mirrors, wooden tables, and chairs.
On my visit, I was able to try the variety of food. They got salads, mains, appetizers, a number of Filipino desserts and sisig station where you can order either chicken, pork or fish sisig. I was actually undecided about which food to try at first. Knowing that I can only consume a little, I decided to go for a full meal, focusing more on their sisig and Sinigang, which I both love! I also tried other meat and vegetable dishes. The restaurant was also offering different Kakanin’s and of course the make you own Halo-Halo. Their menu on that day also includes a few Japanese dishes. I was told that the restaurant once in a while change their menu as well as the additional international cuisine to give more variety for their customers.

I can honestly say that in this location Lola Maria Restaurant offers a very competitive price. If you are dining soon, you can never go wrong with their Sinigang na Lechon, it is the bomb! The Sisig was also good, but I like it a little spicier. I also love the deep-fried kangkong, baked tahong, and bagoong fried rice. Of course, do not forget to try the halo-halo so spare a little space when dining.
