Honestly speaking, I never really had an idea about Bens Cookies not until it arrived here in Manila. And I was really happy I finally met him. Ben’s Cookies is finally home at The Podium Mall in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong, Metro Manila!
As to what I was told, Ben’s Cookies is famously known for their chocolate chunks (not chips) of delicious chocolate and the finest ingredients. These have the perfect balance of sweetness and a combination of warm soft dough with generous chocolate chunks. “A cookie without compromise,” a philosophy they believe ensures that they make the best quality of cookies to keep customers coming back for more. Biting into the warm chewy goodness of these freshly baked cookies will surely bring about childhood memories!
True to what I was told, I had my first Bens Cookies recently when I was invited to be one of the first people to taste it here in Manila. I was able to taste three of the 14 initial flavors they release here in the Philippines. I had Double Chocolate & Nut, Oatmeal & Raisin and the Double chunk which I truly enjoyed. Little do I know, Bens Cookies popularity started in London. Due to it’s incredibly good cookies, it has caught the attention of many acclaimed food insiders and food publications, which then led to its global explosion.
Did you know that Bens Cookies have been deemed as one of the best cookies in New York by The Insider and even rated as part of the top 10 best cookies in various cities by Yelp. They, as a brand, found that by keeping it simple and doing things right, they have become the cookie people talk about… all over the world!
Just a bit of history, Ben’s Cookies was created by chocolate cookbook author Helge Rubenstein (named after her son Ben) as a small shop at Oxford Covered Market 36 years ago. Today, although they sell a lot more cookies, their guiding philosophy and approach to making cookies have not changed. Now loved and patronized around the world with branches in New York, Japan, Dubai, Bangkok, Korea, and Singapore, Ben’s Cookies has now found its new home at The Podium, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong.
