A lot have been heard about Huawei products recently both good and bad. And with the recent rift between the US and China, the butterfly effect has been felt all over the world. But that scenario didn’t really stop the fans from owning a Huawei unit. I personally just had my hands at the newest Huawei P30. Being known for its awesome photography system, I was so excited to test run the product.
As a big company, I do believe Huawei could be able to have a back up plan on to what ever happen next in their position at the global market.
On a personal note, I am just happy to take the phone around and take awesome shot along with it. Continue reading and just a note, this post is a bit photo heavy.
The HUAWEI P30 is truly pushing the envelope of smartphone photography. With its Leica Triple Camera System, it can accommodate our photography to help see the world in its entirety. The super camera system with a 40 MP Super Sensing Camera, a 16 MP Ultra Wide Angle Lens, and an 8 MP telephoto lens, just gives me the freedom to capture the treasure and beauty of the world.
HUAWEI P30 also offers 5x hybrid zoom to let me capture the never-before-seen with great resolution and rich detail. So whenever I’ll be doing a portrait photography, landscape or just stalking someone far away from me. The 5x hybrid zoom could definitely be an asset. Did you also know that with up to 30x digital zoom, the HUAWEI P30 can capture the moon for you? Oh yes, and you can fall into the romantic moonlight and be amazed by the clarity the unit can produce.
Huawei P30 comes in Breathing Crystal, Amber Sunrise, Aurora, Pearl White and Black. I personally got the Aurora.

I do love using this unit while watching movies online like Netflix and/or Youtube. And with its 3,650 mAh battery, I can enjoy both work and entertainment the whole day. Huawei P30 can be comfortably be used as well with one hand, and can easily be unlocked with its advanced in-screen fingerprint sensor.
Being able to used the unit for about two months already, I have able to bring it in some of my travels, specifically in Baler, Aurora, Boracay as well as in Taipei, Taiwan. Here are some of the photos I’ve took taking advantage of some of the features of Huawei P30.
(1) here is a sample photo taken in Cubao X using the NIGHT feature of Huawei P30 (2) Another Night Shot along Cubao (3) This is an indoor shot of an item inside the MOCA Taipei Museum.
Because having a really nice front camera is really important nowadays. (1) Wefie using the front camera of Huawei P30, taken in a cloudy day in Boracay. (2) Here is an indoor selfie inside 7-11 in Taipei. I took advantage of the nice available lighting. (3) Outdoor selfie along the beach of Boracay. Have you notice how detailed the photo are in this series.
Here is a normal WIDE ANGLE shot using the rear camera of Huawei P30. Remember that the rear is sporting a 16 MP ultra-wide angle camera with f/2.2 lens. The photo might have a distorted and nearly blurry side image but the I really love how it captures the light reflection in the building as well as the detail of the clouds. One of the things I love about Smartphones is the advantage of taking panoramic shots easily. (1) The first photo was taken during the ASUS Anniversary Launch in Taipei, Taiwan while the (2) photo was taken in the resort we stayed in in Baler, Aurora. (Also Read: Dicasalarin Cove in Baler Aurora)
Using the portrait mode is somehow a hit and miss for me. I do love the compositions it gave me on both of this photo, but I got some issues in the blur effect it made on the back. It looks okay but somehow feels unreal. I guess adding a blur control or bokeh effect adjustment could do the trick.
(1) Normal indoor shot (2) This random photo was taken while roaming Raohe Market, I tried going near this fruit upon taking this shot. (3) Food photography, which is just one of the many that I did. I actually love how clean the bokeh effect here.
Here I was trying to use SILKY WATER effect but I think failed on capturing the moment. I realize that using a remote and a tripod could really give me a better shot.
Here is another failed attempt of TRAFFIC TRAILS (LIGHT PAINTING), I was using my bare hands when I took this one. Again using a tripod and a remote is really necessary to achieve this better.
(1) Random streets of Taipei (2) Overlooking Taipei 101
I still have a lot more to explore in this awesome smartphone. The long exposure shot is actually one thing, and I’ve heard that Huawei P30 does a good job on doing so. I guess next time, I should really be prepare and bring a tripod and a remote along with me to really used this Smartphone on the next level.
Another feature that I really need to explore is the MACRO photography. Huawei P30 can take clear shots as close as 2.5 cm, this can truly give one a look at the delicate colour patterns on the feather of a peacock.
More sample photos coming your way soon, but for now let me enjoy my Huawei P30 and let me know which one of the features of the smartphone do you think would really made you want to own and take home a Huawei P30.
