Tokyo Tower at Far

On the second day of our trip in Japan, we scheduled a visit at the famous Tokyo Tower. Tokyo Tower is located in downtown Tokyo, specifically in Minato district. It is considered the second-tallest structure in Japan. And if a budget to go to Paris is a bit expensive, having a photo with the Tokyo Tower in the background could be the next best thing to do! It does freakily looks like the Eiffel Tower!

You can drop by and visit as early as 9 in the morning but we decided to drop by in the evening to have a nice night view. Actually, we were planning to really watch the sunset at the Tower but because we were too relax with the schedule, we ended up visiting late night. I think, the best time to visit is around 4 pm in the afternoon onwards, so you could be able to have a view of the cityscape during day, day to night, and night as well.

How Much? How to Book?

Prior to our trip, we booked the attraction via Klook. There were actually a lot of attractions to choose from at Klook. Even the other Tower – the Skytree is available via the app. We were actually thinking which of the two should we book and we ended up taking the first. Especially that it was our first trip in Japan, trying out places with the word “Tokyo” in the title felt like a must.

We got the Tokyo Tower Main Deck Admission, which costs Php 424. This kind of ticket can give access to the Main Observatory located above 150 meters. There is a separate ticket if you want to visit the Special Observatory located 250 meters up. If booking online isn’t your thing, you can easily drop by Tokyo Tower to get your admission ticket. Though having it booked online could be beneficial at times specially if there is a line build up at the ticket booth.

Tokyo Tower is considered as one of the many popular landmarks of Tokyo, Japan. At a vantage point, you could see different parks, monasteries, shrines and famous streets of Tokyo.

I also have heard that at times, especially if the sky is clear, you can even be able to see as far as the Gulf of Tokyo and even up to Mt. Fuji!

Our access was really quick for there weren’t a long line when we arrive. We took an elevator that goes straight at the main deck. It was dark when we entered and you could already see the bustling, colorful city in 360-degree panoramic view.

It was quite a view, actually and I could just stay there and watch the city at night. For those scared at heights, I think better to visit the place at night for the darkness of the city can really cover up the distance of the ground. If you are brave enough you can even experience the thrill of standing on the glass floor called the “Lookdown Window.”

If ever you feel hungry after some time, various restaurants and shops are also available around the observatory. And oh, by the way, if you are a fan of One Piece, the theme is also located in this tower.

#NognogintheCityTip:  Get the One Piece + Main Observatory Ticket which is almost same price of the first but you’ll be getting two attractions in one!

Asking me if it is worth the climb, honestly speaking, it is! For less than Php 500 (US$ 9), spending your night or a few hours in your day here at the Tokyo Tower could already make you appreciate the advancement of this friendly city of Tokyo, Japan!
