It was just a few days ago when Write on Track’s 5th Anniversary of Juan Earth was held in Bonifacio Global City. It was a whole day event of music, learning’s, and discovery of different ways on conserving and helping the environment. It was an event one shouldn’t missed specially if you are looking for different environmental organizations to join to or products that one can use to at least minimize our trash production.
I was able to take part of this whole day event and truly enjoyed visiting the booths, listening to the different seminars and of course watching Silent Sanctuary performed live on stage. But before I dive in to that let me tell you first what happened early that morning.
The event started when the founders of Write on Track, Karen Tui and Koko Tamura lead the opening ceremony. TV News anchor Renz Ongkiko hosted the first half of the program while Rica Garcia of Monster RX 93.1 hosted the latter part of the event.
While seminar is being held, I was also able to roam around and check out the different booths in the area. A few of my favorites includes AGILA, which is an organization from Ateneo that advocates animal welfare, at the booth one can adopt and take home stray cats; Eco Bricks Cavite, where everyone is encourage to used plastic bottles as an alternative to bricks in building houses; and lastly SaveSharks where everyone is information where being disseminated on how in our simple ways we can help conserve sharks in the Philippines. Other NGOs also have booths and did a few talks and workshops regarding their groups advocacies.
True to what it aims, the celebration of Juan Earth’s 5th year success was to truly encourage not just the nature lovers but all those who are concerned to at least extend a helping hand to do more for our environment. Later in the program, a raffle draw was held then followed by a powerful concert performance from the band Silent Sanctuary, who eventually capped this years celebration.
