G-Shock Philippines recently announced the winning design of the “Design the National G-Shock” along with the grand launch of G-Shock’s flagship store at Ayala Vertis North last July 5, 2018.
The grand prize winner, Dylan Dylanco entitled her design as “Habi,” which is an old weaving technique of Filipino ancestors. Dylan Drew her inspiration from the enclaves of the northern Ifugao’s to the Southern tribes of the Moro’s, where the use of ethnic patterns is seen as s symbol of bravery.
Dylanco used the indigenous, symmetrical weaves in bright, bold, and contrasting colors fused together with elements of the Philippine flag – three stars and the sun – to arrive at her winning entry.
The National G-Shock Watch is also the first limited edition, Philippine-designed watch which will only be available locally. A total of only 200 pieces will be available to the public at G-Shock stores from July 6, 2018 for Php 9,995 each.

Design the National G-Shock is a competition that began January 2018, it aims to create an authentic Filipino watch strap that invoked a strong sense of nationalism and indomitable spirit, an auspicious theme at a time when the country’s character and national pride have taken a global regard. The competition receive over 1,200 nationwide entries.
