JoyBus by Genesis: The Most comfortable commute I had from Baguio to Manila (vice-versa)

Baguio City is one the easiest destination places that can be visited if you wanted to escape the hot weather of Manila. Tagaytay City could be the other one, but exploring Baguio is way friendlier than Tagaytay, especially for commuters. You just need to take a bus from any of the different terminals located in Caloocan, Cubao, or Pasay City.  Travel for about 5-6 hours and you are off to a cooler place.

Exploring around Baguio City is also effortless. Options you can take include Jeepneys that go around the city. Grab is also available. Taking a Taxi is way too friendlier than the ones here in Manila, that they would even give you an exchange for the very last cent. That adds to the many reasons why I love visiting Baguio.

JOYBUS PREMIER CLASS BY GENESIS Manila to Baguio City (2 of 29)

I have been to the City of Pines for more than a handful and never get tired of going back. Recently I have discovered a better way to commute to the city or should I say the best and the most comfortable commute I had.

Continue reading and will tell you about it.

JoyBus Premier Class is the newest deluxe bus by Genesis Transport. It travels from Manila to Baguio City and vice versa. The route starts at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 to Baguio City, with a short stopover at Genesis Terminals in Pasay and Cubao. I’ve been hearing about the JoyBus since it started and have been wanting to ride it for a very long time. And just recently, I decided to do it by commuting from Baguio City back to Manila when my family visited Baguio just recently. (Also Read: Azalea Baguio City)

I was supposed to book online via IWant Seats for a more convenient way but I realize that visiting the Bus Terminal located along Gov. Pack Road in Baguio could give me more information about the ride. My idea was a bit risky knowing that each bus ride only got a limited number of passengers, good thing I went to Baguio City on an off-peak month.

JoyBus offers different fair amounts depending on the kind of bus you would be riding. You can either ride Deluxe, Semi-Deluxe, or Premier type Buses. The JoyBus Deluxe Buses are the more frequent kind while a Premier Bus could only be spotted 4 times in a day.

Of course, if you are looking for the most convenient way of commuting from Manila to Baguio or Baguio City to Manila, taking the JoyBus Premier Bus is a must-try.

From Baguio City to Cubao, I paid Php 740, and I was able to enjoy the following;

  • A Laz-Boy kind of a seat
  • A Spacious leg room
  • On board WiFi
  • An Entertainment System for games, ebooks, movies, and music (They got 10 movies available when I checked it)
  • A USB port for charging phones
  • CCTV with speed alarm
  • A Warm blanket and FREE Biscuit and Bottle of Water
  • A clean Comfort Room
  • and a Bus Attendant to assist you with your needs

JOYBUS Schedules

Bus schedules differ depending on where you are coming so it is recommended to check or ask Genesis on Facebook regarding the schedules of each terminal. Remember to check the schedule of the desired bus you would want to take.

Note: The schedule that I posted below is taken from the JoyBus terminal in Baguio City

Commuting Tips & Reminders

  • It is best to buy online and early especially if you are visiting during a peak season
  • You can book a seat via IWant Seat or if you arrive early in Baguio City, go to the JoyBus booth to book early for your departure.
  • I suggest you ride the bus late in the evening, so you could enjoy a good night’s sleep.
  • The bus leaves on time with or without passengers so better be there 15 minutes before departure
  • The air-conditioning tends to be very cold, having an extra jacket would be ideal
  • The bus doesn’t have a stopover so it is advisable for you to bring food on your travel
  • The best seats are the solos located on the right side of the bus.
