So, you’ve just finished a top rating Netflix TV series and is now looking for a new one to binge? Well, you came at the right post. In this article i’ll discuss my 5 highly suggested TV series on Netflix. This list could be something new or probably not for you but nevertheless, I was definitely hooked watching all of these.
Since I started subscribing at Netflix, it has become my norm to always watch one or two before I sleep. Making me awake till 1 or 2 in the morning. I’ve watched many contents already, some I just started and didn’t finish but for others, it just gives me this feeling of excitement that I couldn’t help but continue watching the next.
My movie liking could be towards the investigative, sci-fi or thriller type of films but I also do have some space for others. I have this habit of cutting a season and picking up a new one just to remove the feeling of being fed up with the series. So once in a while I combined two different genre.
If you’ve been looking for the next TV series or movies to binge, here are some of my suggestions. I practically finished (or still watching) most of them so I could really highly recommend you to see it as well.
BLACK ORPHAN
Black Orphan is a Canadian science fiction thriller TV series that stars Tatiana Maslany as several identical people who are clones. The TV series is already finished with 50 episodes in 5 season.
Why do I like it: Tatiana Maslany is really a great actress portraying not just one character but many. While watching, you could barely see the difference between the clones. I wonder how they film it, specially in the event where the 5 major characters are in one frame. Black Orphan really got a nice story plot and it excites me whenever there is a new clone coming up in the scene.
THE 100
Another science fiction in the list. The 100 is an American post-apocalyptic science fiction drama TV series that tells the story of 100 juvenile prisoners who were sent to the surface in an attempt to determine whether Earth is habitable. This happens after a devastating nuclear apocalypse wipe out almost all life on Earth, 97 years ago. The TV series already have 5 season and is renewed for a sixth season last On May 8, 2018.
Why do I like it: The conflicts in the film is never ending. I was hooked already after watching episode 1. I guess it really matter to have a very powerful starting episode to make people truly watch the whole series. The evolution of Clark Griffin as a juvenile to a leader of a clan also is something to be watch out. Aside from that, I guess having a female protagonist in the series is also part of the reason why I enjoyed this series.
BLACK MIRROR
Black Mirror is a British science fiction anthology television series that highlights modern society in particular with the unanticipated consequences of new technologies. The TV series could give us unconventional situations that are close to reality, that it could probably freak you out or give you a new perspective about technology.
Why do I like it: Black Mirror is crazily intelligent! Each episode is created standalone and is set in an alternative present or near future. The scenarios are close to reality that it would make you remember the scenes when you encounter that kind of technology in present. I was able to finish the whole season in one seating, that is how hooked I was watching it.
EASY
Here’s a lighter TV series you could watch, EASY is an American comedy-drama anthology series that talk about life conflicts in general. The series is set in Chicago and was first released by Netflix last September 22, 2016. EASY currently have 2 season with each episode running for 30-minutes only.
Why do I like it: EASY was written meticulously that it interconnected different life in the whole series. It doesn’t have a main character as a whole but will discuss the conflict of a particular character per episode. It is very relatable and is something that you could already encounter in reality.
DIRK GENTLY’S HOLISTIC DETECTIVE AGENCY
Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency is a BBC America comic science fiction detective television series. It got 2 seasons already which is inspired from the novel series of the same name by Douglas Adams. The show revolves around the eccentric Dirk Gently (Samuel Barnett) who claims to be a “holistic detective”, investigating obscure cases based on the inter-connectivity of all things. Unfortunately, after it’s second season finale, BBC America announced the show’s cancellation.
Why do I like this: It got a really crazy plot of weirdness, and I like it. Though, this kind of TV series could be a niche targeting for it could sometimes gives that odd feeling but the characters are really likeable you would want to keep on watching it. Of course, aside that I am a fan of Elijah Wood who portrays the sidekick of Dirk Gently named Todd Brotzman.
Other TV Series to binge-watch
Aside from this lists, there are a lot of other TV series I would highly recommend like “How to get away with Murder” which you might probably is watching already and “Santa Clarita Diet” (Watch Drew and Timothy in Manila), which just recently released it’s second season over Netflix.
“Lost in Space” is another new series that was just recently released in Netflix. I’ve finish the whole season for just a week after watching it every night. I can’t wait for the next season to be release.
Another TV series that I really love seeing and watched over Netflix is the “American Horror Story”, but unfortunately been pulled out on Netflix.
Lastly, if you are into black comedy with kids as protagonist; try watching “A Series of Unfortunate Events” which just also recently release its second season on Netflix.
