I guess it wouldn’t be that bad to at least enjoy a day of just doing what I love or discovering new places to explore or dine. Being too busy with work and other responsibility in life could really give us a lot of stress. So, I guess a time to distress should really be part of our weekly schedule.
One Friday afternoon, Ruth and I decided to visit Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City. Considering its distance to my place (I live in Quezon City), it was too unlikely for me to be more frequent in this mall compare to Eastwood City or Venice Piazza. Actually, I find it more accessible from people from the North compare to the other two malls I’ve said.
Continue reading, will tell you more about my distressing activity and the other things I’ve discovered about the place.
Wearing: Shirt from Penshoppe, Pants from Uniqlo, Shoes from People Footwear
Aside from the fact that I really love Uptown Malls VIP Cinema, the variety of shops and dining (plus the beautiful crowd) makes me want to go back frequently at this mall. For a place that is far from home, I guess we can call that an effort.
We arrived at the place past 12 noon, Ruth and I decided to head straight to Denny’s for lunch.

Denny’s first branch in the Philippines (@DennysPhilippines)
Denny’s is a famous diner in America and it sets foot here in the Philippines with their very first branch located at Uptown Mall. The Bistro Group of Restaurant decided to bring it here in the Philippines last 2016. Since its operation, this would be my second time dining at this place. For our lunch we had the following;
All American Slam (Php 395) – Scrambled egg with cheddar cheese, two bacon strips, two sausages, hash brown and toast.
Philly Cheesesteak Omelette (Php 475) – It got grilled beef, roasted bell peppers and onions and melted Swiss cheese omelette
Slow-Cooked Pot Roast (Php 455) – Slow-cooked pot roast, herb-roasted carrots, celery and onions covered with rich gravy. Served with steamed rice.
I already knew that it is going to be a long day today, for after our scheduled me time at Uptown Mall we will go straight to Clark, Pampanga. There, we will stay over the weekend. That is the reason why we already brought our stuff at the mall. We know that it is going to be a hassle but we already got a solution for that.
Hidden Art Installation in Uptown Mall
Aside from the high rise buildings, restaurants and shops; Bonifacio Global City (BGC) is well known for the various art installation scattered across the place. It is mostly created in different sizes and can be seen in different corners and walls but recently I found something more interesting.
Have you seen the hidden Sunflower Art Installation in BGC?
Well, I said hidden because, the Sunflower art installation cannot be seen by any individual who is just strolling around BGC. But if you were working on one of the buildings surrounding Uptown Mall, it would be a sight. The hidden art installation is located at the roof of the mall and can be seen only if you are riding a helicopter, plane or working on the buildings higher than the mall itself.
I was able to just see it when we visited a friend who works in Alliance Global Tower, which is located just beside the mall. This is how it looks like at the 20th floor.
After taking some photos and hanging there for a while, we left our bags and luggage and decided to continue our day shopping.
Next, we decided to get a pair of shoes at Complex Lifestyle
Complex Lifestyle (@complexlifestylestore)
Complex Lifestyle store carries brands like Sperry, Keds, Polo, Pony, Saucony and more. Currently having 14 branches, one of which is located here at Uptown Mall.
ILAHUI – One Stop shop for Korean Inspire premium products (@ilahuiphilippines)
Invasion in the Philippines isn’t really over yet, after the Japanese occupation, now we are having the Koreans. And we just love it!
On our day in Uptown Mall, we discovered this new brand that is considered as a one-stop shop for Korean inspired premium products. They got skin care, toys, home products and a lot more. I initially said I would just look around, but I ended up spending Php 2,000 just for an hour. Anyway, the affordability of the products is just simply irresistible.
Mamma Mia! (@mammamiaph)
Located at the ground floor of Uptown Mall, Mamma Mia serves as the venue for our early dinner. MJ De Leon, our friend who we visited a while ago) joined us for dinner. It was my fist time dining at Mamma Mia, and with its name, I already got a hint that the restaurant serves Italian and Mediterranean cuisines.
The interior got this really homey vibe in green and brown colors. It also got a wide range of menu for both food and drinks.
For our dinner we had salad, pizza, pasta, soup and set of cheeses. I personally love the pizza that we even decided to spare some and bring over on our travel to Pampanga.
It was an amazing day, spending it with friends and discovering new shops at Uptown Mall. I guess, treating myself once in while would be more frequent activity, especially after this experience. Maybe next time will include a spa and movie night in the itinerary.
After the dinner, we went back to the office to get our stuff.
From the mall, off we go to Lubao, Pampanga.
