If you have visited Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park more than once and think you have already satiated this place, well I guess this time you should consider going back.
On their 20th anniversary, the famous Hotel and Leisure Park stated to offer something new and fun activities to do for their returning and new clients.
Can you guess what’s new at this place? if you want to find out the answer scroll down and continue reading . . .
I visited Island Cove more than twice already. I got my personal favorites on this place, like the large pools, the wonderful veranda as well as the delicious meals at the Fishing Village. The experience on each visit has been different due to the different companions and activities I had, but I can honestly say that the familiarity of the place makes it less more exciting. This is true not just with any resort but with any other establishments I’ve been to. Hence, I sometimes try and visit new places. I guess that is the reason why most companies do have to add new amenities and/or like the restaurants, add or change menu once in a while. Doing so, entices former customers to return and attracts the new ones as well.
On the nth time, I was able to go back to the Island. The whole place was almost the same as how I have seen it before but I notice the few added attractions they had, they updated some of the old favorites and lined up promos that will make one go on a getaway easier on the pocket. It is how I imagine this Island could be; fun, entertaining and wholesome, that even the four-legged ones can truly appreciate.
“We strive to keep things interesting and exciting for our guests by offering something fresh all the time. We also make sure that our facilities are up-to-date and continue to cater to the changing needs and wants of our market,” explains Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park Managing Director, Gilbert Remulla.
It was their 20th anniversary. Along with the celebration, Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park added a few attractions;
What’s new at Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park
Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park is just 20 minutes away from SM Mall of Asia. CaviteX makes the place more accessible to all the city dwellers. I can honestly say that going to Cavite is much easier than going to North EDSA coming from the South. (Read: Commuting to Island Cove)
We arrived at Island Cove before lunchtime and right after we settled we started to check out the new things that we found around the place.
The Island Aviary
The new Aviary just opened. It was formerly placed at the far end of the island but now have been relocated to a more compact area near the hotel. Just a few walk from the lobby, you can comfortably explore the 3,500 square meter animal sanctuary that houses different birds such as the Brahminy Kite, ostrich, and peacock. Also watch out for turtles, iguanas, Phil Sailfin lizards, a Burmese python, rabbits, and koi fishes. What I love about this aviary is how they manage to make it more interactive, of course with the guidance of the zookeeper. I never really thought that I would be enjoying a Zoo tour. I had the chance to feed the ostrich, rabbits and even wrap my self at the huge python (which just ate 3 chickens). Entrance fee at the Aviary is at P50 per person.
I want to take home one (or even two)
Feeding the Ostriches with banana
They are selling the Ostrich eggs for Php 3,000 each. That’s a lot of protein.
This Python just ate 3 huge chickens

This Phyton is actually heavier than me
Just to see how long it was . . .
Go-Karts + Horse Back Riding
Near the Oceania area was the station of the go-karts and horseback riding. The go-karts were there alternative for the previous Bicycle station. I find it way better especially for those who don’t know how to ride a bike. This manually pedal go-kart is more user-friendly and can be driven by both kids and adults. Go-Karts can be rented for Php 100 for every 15 minutes.
On the other hand, if you would want to try riding the horse. A fee of Php 50 is all you would need to ride it for 15-minutes.
King Crawler
Perfect for the kids, The King Crawler is a vertical urban play structure which combines several functions including different types of climbing opportunities. The Kind Crawler has been around for quite some time but the management has made safer for the children with the installation of colorful rubber flooring (EPDM) to minimize the possibility of accidents.
Mermaid Swim Experience
Have you seen a real-life mermaid? Well, here at Island Cove, you could be able to be one especially this coming summer!
Starting this March, fairy tales will come true at the Oceania Swim and Splash Park. Expect to see mermaids flapping their fins during the Mermaid Swim Experience. Ocean Conservation Advocate, Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver and Freelance Mermaid Performer, Amarie and her school of fellow mermaids will let you don a tail and learn how to swim like a mermaid. Each session runs for two hours.
I was planning to try it for myself but I forgot to bring in the right swimming outfit (they require men to wear trunks or tights). So I let all the ladies do the experience instead.

Bayside Deck
The Bayside Deck is the latest addition to Island Cove’s inventory of function areas. Overlooking Manila Bay, yet air-conditioned, the 170-seater is perfect for events on sweltering days. Also they are offering the same dishes with the Fishing Village.
On our day trip, we were also able to visit some of the rooms of the hotel, the pool, the spa and the Fit Club. And speaking of Fit Club, Island Cove is coming up with a body transformation challenge dubbed as Fit Club Fitness Journey. This aims to reward those (customers) with the biggest weight loss. Do check out their official page and website to know more about the challenge.
One of the best thing and I really enjoyed doing here at Island Cove are the food and the nice view of the Fishing Village. This year, The Fishing Village has expanded its menu and included the so-called “Kamayan Sets” which is good for 6-8 persons. We were able to try these appetizing bundles and even tried eating with our bare hands. We were able to try the 3 different sets that are priced from Php 2, 800 to Php 3,300. Our feast includes different dishes like Sizzling Seafood, Sinigang na Bangus, Crispy Pata, Kare-kare, Barbeque Pork Belly, Pancit Bihon, Pritong Hito, Bagoong Rice, Lumpiang Sariwa and Leche Flan.
Sangley Point’s Western cuisine menu has been spiced up with new dishes too. Schedule a food trip and try the Starters Platter, Buffalo Chicken Burger, Linguine al Vongole, Rigatoni al Salmone, and the Madras Style Vegetable Curry.
There are still a lot of promos and exciting new offerings scheduled the whole year here at Island Cove. After all, it is their 20th anniversary and for sure each of us would love to be part of their history. Plan a vacation, remember it is one of the nearest we can visit here from Manila.
