Okay guys, I hope there’s no hesitation on this: The World Pizza Day is something worth celebrating. So I hope you’ll allow my inner geek to blurt this small slice of pizza history out.
Before becoming the “pizza” that endeared the world over, this yeasted flat bread with tomato sauce and cheese originated in Naples, Italy in the 1700s. The Neopolitan Raffaele Esposito was accounted as the creator of the iconic pizza to pay tribute to Queen Margherita in 1889.
