Just like any expensive furniture, I can consider a nice mattress as a property you could own for a lifetime. True to this fact, we own a few mattresses in the house that are older than I am. Some of it is even handed down and being used now by some of the kids in the house. It is definitely a precious item I can consider as an investment.
That is the reason why, when I was already capable of getting my own, I see to it that the item that I would be getting has the same or even more qualities than what we have. It wasn’t really a difficult task for me do, especially if you’ve been using a product that you’ve grown up too.

Uratex has been a word I’ve already known ever since I was a kid. Being the eldest son, I have the privilege to be tag along by my parents on their whereabouts most especially when they would be doing some shopping. I wasn’t too aware back then on the importance of the brands and/or qualities one should be getting. I guess ‘adulting’ duties nowadays made me appreciate those things we did back then.
Just a month ago, I decided to get two new mattresses, one for me and the other as a gift to my parents. I thought maybe it is time for them to ditch the old and get a new one. After all, the old mattress have serve them well and welcoming a new mattress would be ideal for it could give them something the old one couldn’t.
When I visited the Uratex store a few months back, I decided to tag along my Mom so she could be able to really feel and experience the beds before we do the purchase. My parents are already getting old and I realize they would need something to support their ageing. Personally, I got my liking on the Senso Memory Ultima, which is memory foam that is infused with gel beads that absorbs heat. It was said that it could lower the body temperature by up to 2ºC compare to other traditional foam. But it costs around Php 30,000. (Read: Sleeping Hacks)
Because I am working on a limited budget, I decided to get the Orthocare Balance (Medium Firm) instead which is also under the Uratex Premium Mattress.

I actually had the chance to use it when I visited my parents at home. It didn’t disappoint me. My overnight stay felt like I was lying in bed in one of the hotels I’ve been to before. I had a good night sleep. And when I woke up, I didn’t have that feeling of “pangangalay” and I was able to get up easily for I didn’t felt tired or whatsoever. I guess that is because of the combination of high-density foam with multi-zone topper that gives an outstanding pressure relief and back support (well, I just read that info of course).
I also learn that this particular mattress was treated with Sanitized® which is proven to effectively protects against growth of bacteria, odour, mildew, and dust mites. With that, it keeps the mattress clean and hypoallergenic.
