The month of December has always been too colourful here in the Philippines. It is the month wherein families, employees or even group of friends celebrate the year that just about to end while welcoming the new one with a more positive attitude.
Ever since I was a kid I always look forward on how the whole mood changes as houses, roads and buildings lit up with colorful lights. Even malls are becoming more fun with huge centrepieces that mostly triggered the kid inside me. SM Supermalls never failed to do so. This years the coveted mall set up a one-of-a-kind magical holiday with series of exciting activities, enchanting events and amazing holiday deals featuring dazzling Disney centrepieces the whole family will surely love.
A few years back I was able to do a mall tour and host a Madagascar theme holiday where kids and kids at heart was able to meet me along with Alex the Lion. This year, SM Supermalls levels up featuring different Disney inspired holiday setup in each mall. I was able to paid a visit to some and here’s what happened.
First up, SM City BF Parañaque.
Kids who loves Anna, Kristoff, Snow Queen Elsa and most specially Olaf, would definitely enjoy the snowy castle display at SM City BF Parañaque. Mallers could be able to take a selfie and groupie at the huge area coined as Disney Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.
Aside from that, you can also have the option to slide your way at the newly made ice skating rink just in front of the castle. Do not forget to bring a jacket on your visit!
SM City Sucat
From winter, we move to another SM City mall to hit the fastlane. Be ready to win the Piston Cup when you visit SM City Sucat. Kids and kids at heart who loves Lightning McQueen and Mater would have a blast enjoying the huge ‘tire tree’ setup, road signs and characters of the movie ‘Cars’ displayed at the SM City Sucat’s activity center.
On the side, one can also avail different Disney Cars collectibles at a very decent price.
SM Mall of Asia (MOA)
From Cars, now we head to a circus festival. We found Leo the lion, Hannah the panda, Gerry the giraffe, Hailey the hippo, Macky the monkey, Benny the bunny, Cyril the squirrel, and Ellie the elephant at the majestic SM Mall of Asia centerpiece. Characters can also be found hanging on the ceiling.
At 5:30 pm, we were invited to head to the North and South Arcades of SM MOA to witness this years “The Grand Festival of Lights.” The free parade show is showcased the whole Saturday of December. Next showing schedule will be this coming December 16, 23, and 25.
Featured in 65 SM Supermalls nationwide, magical SM decor and Disney and Pixar themed displays also include Mickey Mouse and Friends, Disney Princesses, and Sofia the First. SM also presents pyromusical shows, illumination festivals and grand parades.
SM Supermalls also features Bears of Joy, an annual advocacy campaign dedicated to making more children happy every year ends. This enables the mallers to buy a pair of bears for Php200 – one bear for the customer to keep while the other bear is donated to charities, such as the Nayon ng Kabataan orphanage.
