Pardon to all Golfers but I always thought this sport as the most boring one. That I didn’t even bother to try it first before judging. But my idea about golf changes just recently when I visited Pradera Verde Golf and Country Club as I step foot at the green grass and hit my first ball out through the clouds.
A combination of balance, precision, strength and a lot of patience, Golf (just like any sport) is a sport that is quite hard to master. It is not just hitting a ball, or not just striking to shoot it, there is a whole new universe evolving around it. Like different terms from the equipment’s, to the ways of hitting, up to even wearing the right shoes; and with that Golf is a sport not too accessible for many.
That is why I always see Golf as a social sports for aside that it is an expensive one, most business owners close deals while golfing. Sleek!
But did you know that a golfer uses many body muscles just to hit the ball effortlessly? Research showed that the your lower body muscle (famously known as your butt) is the major muscle used when golfing. Other muscle of your body that plays an important role includes the upper body muscles like the chest, back, your core and forearm muscles.
I guess that’s the reason why professionals do 320 yards so effortlessly. That didn’t happen when I was able to hit a golf ball. The truth is I wasn’t able to hit it at first.
After doing the fun Wakeboarding activity at Pradera Verde (Read:Wakeboarding at Pradera Verde), we decided to try Golf.
Pradera Verde Golf and Country Club is a 400-hectare area with 36-hole golf course. It got big greens and long fairways complemented with a high-class clubhouse. Pradera Verde Golf and Country Club is considered as “a prime destination for golfers” in North and Certral Luzon.
And as said by many, it is definitely one of kind, nice and peaceful.
We were able to try playing Golf at the practice area. Hitting it for the first time opened this thought that Golf isn’t really an easy sport. I actually felt the complication of it specially when they brought the bag of Golf Clubs. It was just a lot and you would need to know which one to used depending on your strategy, whether you’ll hit the ball far or short range.
It was actually funny that I was imitating the professional Golfer playing besides us, from the stance to the golf club he uses, even from hitting the ball. Luckily, I was able to hit the ball for a few times, but as you know, hitting it isn’t just enough for you need to hit it hard pointing to the direction you wanted the ball to reach. That isn’t easy! I think a few hits make me give up already.
Nevertheless, playing it for the first time sure did made me understand the sports Golf. And I am pretty sure to do it again, specially if I’m already running my own business and closing deals with the ‘altas’ while playing the sport (lol!). Is it really boring? For me, it is challenging!
