How to make a Pistachio Gelato? Simple. Just place the 2 cups milk, 4 egg yolks and 1 cup heavy cream in a container. While it’s warming, place the 1/2 cup sugar and pinch of salt. Add 1/2 cup pistachio puree. Mix well. Process. Add 1 cup roasted pistachio nuts. Mix. Taste. Refrigerate. The process could be very straight forward but still creating a perfect Gelato depends on a lot of things. That includes ingredients. And having the best ingredient is what Carte D’Or is made of.
This was presented to us at the launch held at Fabtech Kitchen in Makati City. Aside from showing us how Gelato is made. UK’s #1 premium ice cream brand that has been enjoyed by discerning dessert lovers from all over the world – Carte D’Or was introduce to the invited guests. Chef Miko Aspiras showed us a walk-through.
Now, Carte D’Or is finally making its Southeast Asian debut with its new Gelato range, and it starts here in the Philippines. Carte D’Or Gelato offers a lineup of flavors crafted with real Australian cream & only the finest ingredients sourced from all around the world.
At the launch, I was able to taste three of their best flavors – Salted Caramel, Double Dark Chocolate and of course the one that we made, Pistachio.
Personally, I am drawn to having Salted Caramel more than the Double Dark Chocolate. But Double Dark Chocolate is something not to be missed specailly by chocoholics for it got chunks of Belgian chocolate stirred into thick chocolate gelato. The Carte D’Or Pistachio Gelato on the other hand is a scene stopper as you give in to your first bite. Also, Carte D’Or pistachios are grown in the sun-kissed vistas of South Australia and California.
Targeted towards the young and discerning market of today, Carte D’Or Gelato shares its consumers’ belief in the importance of quality and authenticity in everything they do.
