Most of the influencers (aside from those who don’t know how to bike) got super excited when we saw the bikes lined up with matching blue balloons on the starting point of the tour in Wanurejo Village. I’ve been biking since I was in the elementary years and my family loves cycling too making us own a few bicycles in our house in the Philippines. This makes me more eager to join this activity here in Yogyakarta.
The bicycle tour will let us see not just the rural atmosphere but as well as the scenery of the rice fields and plantation, which is mostly where, the bread and butter of the villagers come in.
Keep left as the guide tells us, making us lined up whenever somebody stops. Now time for some selfie!
It was a 3km exploration starting in Karangrejo Village up to our end point at Pendopo Tingal, which is where a small snack, and a few more activities are waiting.
Light snacks that are mostly composed of rice cakes, cassava and banana were served at the end point. The food was kind of resembles the usual “kakanin” here in the Philippines. But what I love the most was the refreshing ginger based tea they were serving.
After the break we were encourage to try doing the batik and pottery making. I was more enthusiastic to try the pottery making, thou I felt that I didn’t do well in making one. It’s just sad that the pottery I made didn’t reach Manila in one whole piece. hehehe
It was a tiring but an amazing day one in Yogyakarta. After the activity we head straight to Atria Hotel Magelang to check in, rest and have dinner. Tomorrow is another long day for we are to start at 3 in the morning!
Here is a video of our fun Cycling tour!
