From 500 participants now down to six. The young aspiring photographers have been selected and are now getting ready to compete and enjoy their upcoming travel to Shanghai, China. AirAsia Travel Photographer year 2 aims to find the sole individual who would be able to not just take good photos but as well as inspire, engage and empower his or her fellow youth to pursue their goals by travelling and sharing their stories.
The six finalist includes ….

- Kimberly Pauig – Pasig
- Atty. Eliseo Zuniga – Taguig
- Neil Michael Cardano – Puerto Princesa
- Daniel Magbanua – Q.C
- Dave Poblete – Makati
They went through rounds of judging and were selected based on their personality, creativity, content, originality and technical or visual presentation. The panel of judges includes Nachi Ugarte, creative director of GRID magazine; Jacob Maentz, documentary photographer; Wawi Navarrosa, artist/photographer, founder of thousandfold; and Rudy Kaw, AirAsia Group’s head of branding.

Can you guess what are the perks of being the grand winner? Well, this years AirAsia Travel Photographer grand winner will not just be held as the travel photographer of the year but will also receive 200,000 AirAsia BIG points, surprise vacation package and more prizes from partner brands including GRID magazine and Flight 101.

At the selection process held at Café Italia in Fort Bonifacio, we were able to get to know more of the selected few. I heard one of the finalist even sent entries that were shot using mobile phones, Nice! We were able to be part as well of the first webisode of AirAsia.
