I’ve been hearing stories telling me how good ‘Rak of Aegis’ was. I was there when it was first launch to the press, but unfortunately because of different circumstances. I still haven’t seen the whole play. But on it’s 5th and (as what i’ve heard) final run, finally, I was able to watch it and hey it was awesome!
PETA’s Rak of Aegis the Musical revolves around a young singer’s dream of stardom in the midst of conflicts about life, love, community and flood. Something close to the hearts of most Filipinos specially the ones living in the metro.
Rak of Aegis featured some of the new members of the cast: Tanya Manalang as Aileen, Carla Tanya Manalang as Aileen, Carla Guevarra-Laforteza as Maryjane, Jon Santos as Fernan, Vince Lim as Kenny, and Joann Co as Mercy to name a few. It was presented at the Press Night 2 days before the premier, June 15, 2016.
All the casts were exceptional good and the scenes are very memorable. I love how attacked current issues in a light way and on how they inserted characters that are very relatable. I think thats the beauty of theater that along with the run they can easily adjust and make everything current.
After watching I realize that I know a lot of AEGIS songs that I was singing almost the whole show while they were performing.
