An original Sony production, “The Art of More” explores the foible and surprisingly ruthless world of premium auction houses, filled with smugglers, hustlers, power mongers and collectors of the beautiful and the bizzare. Christian Cooke stars as Graham Connor who is a blue collar young man, who leverages his way into this exclusive existence by utilising his connections to the antiquities black market he was exposed to as a soldier in Iraq.
Dennis Quaid, also as the executive producer, stars as the charismatic real estate shark Samuel Brukner who has a penchant for ill-gotten art. Brukner is the life of the party, but when it comes to his money,he can be ruthless, shrewd and corrupt. Kate Bosworth plays Roxanna Whitney, daughter of the CEO of one of the two warring auction houses — and a leading account executive. Although she was born into this exclusive world and thrives in it, she is riddled with insecurities that drive her to be a formidable executive in her own right.
“The Art of More” premiers May 24, 2016 Tuesday at 8:50 pm at Sony Channel.

When it’s time to raise your bidding number at Salcedo Auction
Aside from launching the “The Art of More”, Sony Channel let all their guest experience how a real auction is played. And off course the best place to do that is at Salcedo Auctions.
Upon our arrival, we were given a designated number along with our play money (which is worth 20,000) to be used at the auction. Upon handing it to me, I was already thinking what could I get from this amount of money.
I’ve heard auctions could be very addictive and fun to do as well specially if you got art appreciation and got lots of money to play with. The latter is something I don’t have.

There were 10 Items auctioned that includes 3 mystery items. Everybody was on their game, we were even given information about each items and a hint to the mystery items presented by the mediator. We were also told that once our budget was a inadequate we (other media) can combine our money to get something we really want. Which most of the people did while the auction was being held.
First up, was a gold plated cutlery that started at Php 1,000, it became 2,000, 3500, until it reached Php 16,000 before being sold to the last bidder.
I was waiting for some items I like, gadgets or furniture maybe. But there ain’t no gadget that was bid. One of my most favorite item was the 60-year old fully functional vinyl player which was won by Jeman for Php 26,000.
Other items includes, paintings, murals, Narra furnitures and chandelier light, wine suitcase and three mystery box that consists of two Cartier eyeglasses and an overnight stay at Sofitel.
I wasn’t able to win anything for my money was borrowed by friends. Errr, But I had fun! If only it was real money, I would just put it in my pocket.
