First it was coffee, now its tea! More and more shops are opening presenting different drink offerings and the rave of tea and milk tea have started to tickle the taste of Filipinos. Wether it be hot or cold, in teacups or paper cups we started to appreciate a cup of tea.
I tried most brands and enjoyed almost all of it but what I am proud to introduce to you is the one that I’ve tried just recently.
SWEETEA by da.u.de is a new specialty store focusing in serving tea and other confectionaries. Owned by the popular tea extraordinaire Renee Sebastian, Sweetea capitalizes on its ambiance and (of course) specially concocted coffee and teas.
And guess what, this ain’t no foreign brand, Sweetea sourced out local products from the ingredients up to its interiors. Ms. Renee explained to us that the unique design of the seats are even inspired from the famous Ifugao Rice terraces! Coolness! It felt comfy actually specially if your with friends doing some casual chats while sipping your favorite Sweetea blend.
And speaking of blends, Sweetea currently have more than a handful of blend choices. And even more amazing is the idea that you can mix and match or even create your own blend! There are so many different ways to re-create your drink! They might even consider adding it up in their menu if your mixture would taste exquisite!
As to what i’ve heard, Renee travel across countries just to discover rare tea ingredients. I personally enjoyed my Zesty Green Passion with Mango Fruit Bomb. The Fruit is so amazing! Its like a small fruit bursting with flavors inside. That’s highly recommended!
Partnering my chosen blend, I ordered Wafingka! Thier version of waffle with bibingka stuffing! Its so satisfying and the salted egg makes it compatible to any hot sweet tea or coffee.
Aside from what I tried, there are even more items to choose from. And if you wanted to experience the T (taste) at your home, you can even buy some packed tea or even create your own tea party with the unique tea sets available inside the store!
I had fun sipping my tea with the bunch. And would live to re-visit and try other blends soon, good thing they opened up a branch at SM NORTH EDSA THE BLOCK.
You can enjoy a cup starting at 60 (tea) and 95 (coffee)! Super big T (thanks) to Sweeteaph! More Photos here
