You might hate me for this, but truly, Im no (super) fan of Harry Potter Series (or I may have watched it but I’m not going gaga over it). Maybe I’m just the usual guy who knows most of the character of the movie/series but doesn’t seem to remember them by names (except for the main characters ofcourse). But anyway, that’s just me. I guess, some of you might know Harry, some might not. But a friend of mine, in particular – Ruth Dela Cruz, is somehow, can be considered (I think) as a fantard when It comes to Harry Potter. Have I told you she celebrated her recent $%th Birthday the Muggle way?!

She’s been bugging us since last year and did an early save-the-date action for her birthday celebration this February. It was a long days of preparations I may say, but nevertheless, its worth it. And of course just like what I said a while ago this is a Harry Potter themed birthday party. So she’ll expecting us (the guess) to make an effort to wear a happry potter inspired outfit (or costumes).
Well, that’s a big problem for a person that is a not so fan of a movie, what more to those who doenst even know the movie existed? Well good thing everyone got google and can easily browse the characters (just like what I did!).
So, a few weeks before the event, I decided to visit the UK-UK store just to look for a black coat or maybe any clothes that could possibly be somehow harry potter-ish inspired outfit. Thankfully,I finally got what I need. I also bought a lot of scarfs, which I found very cheap on those places.
What do you think? Mukha na bang taga-London!
A few days before the event …
I received the formal invitation a few days before the event, along with it was a specialized wand that will complete my Harry Potter look. I initially wanted to cosplay Quirinus Quirrell , then I decided to play Professor Remus Lupin , but after wearing the outfit, I thought I wasn’t really near to those character, so I decided I’m just one of those nameless students in Hogwarts!
Got a scarf, a sealed invite, a wand and a book of memories. Now what spell should I cast in? Any suggestions? #flatlaybynognog

The Grand Hall Dinner (Clara Ole Potluck)
The event was held at Lola Café in Tomas Morato area. It is a small place, a former house I think, converted into a restaurant. At the front was a small glass hall that can accommodate around 50 heads, this is where the event is to be held. There is also a space at the second floor where they accept guests for today. By the way here’s how I look like – Harry Potter in the City!
What I’m wearing: Button Down & Pants from People are People; Pullover from MainStreet; Shoes from SM Milanos; Coat I bought from UK-UK
I came by early for I was tasked to document the event, while Paul was asked to be the emcee. I wasn’t really able to take photos much but soon (crossing my fingers) i’ll try to finish the video.
The venue was filled with Harry Potter stuff, from the floating candles, to the flying keys, the tables where also covered by pages of Harry Potter book and on the side, there was a frame where you can take animated photos just like those animated photo frames and newspapers in the movie.
Look at that Witch! @earthlingorgeous
When you go to the bathroom you’ll find Moaning Myrtle on the window, and a passage to Hogwarts (9 3/4) pointing at the toilet bowl! Witty!
We did a lot on that day, we played games, socialized, and was happy on how each of the attendees looks like, and yes off course we would not forget about the food!
Team Suspect! John Snape, Ruth Dementor, Earth Weasley, Rodel Potter!
A celebration without food is no celebration at all! Good thing Clara Ole prepared a sumptuous late lunch for the entire guest! I love how witty they created each of the names as well!
Each of the food serve was inspired from the characters of harry potter and created using clara ole products. I personally love the breads and the meatball pasta! I’ve heard from one of the invited friends of Ruth who was also a chef that she was amazed on how Clara Ole products made it to tastes the potluck she created as good as how a ‘mano-mano’ sauce is created. Clara Ole really does make our life much easier!
It was a successful party! We went home happy with our broom like looking goodies! And Oh! I won some prizes too! Again, Harry Birthday Ruth! Cliché (as you always say) it maybe “many more birthdays to come! And thanks Clara Ole for hosting her birthday and making it a special day.
You too can do a Clara Ole Potluck party visit this link to know how.
