It’s an intergalactic partnership made in clothing heaven—global retail brand UNIQLO partners with Star Wars to celebrate the release of series’ latest instalment, The Force Awakens.
Frontlined by pieces featuring new characters from the new film (like BB-8, Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma), the UNIQLO Star Wars UT Collection features 22 creative designs and is available at all UNIQLO branches nationwide for a limited time only.
I appreciate the fact that the designs are dynamic yet kept simple and come in basic colors, making it easy for anyone to wear them with just about anything. My favourites are these grey Chewie and black classic Star Wars designs (me thinks these will look great with a pair of distressed jeans and sneakers!). You can also wear a zip hoodie over the shirts to keep yourself warm during these colder months.
Other favourites are these two designs that feature the new film’s logo and Captain Phasma. I don’t know about you, but I really think these will look great when worn with UNIQLO’s cargo or chino shorts (hashtag weekend OOTD)!
In keeping with UNIQLO’s promise of providing high-quality lifewear, each piece in the collection is made from sturdy yet oh-so-soft material. And the best part? Each one is only P790! And did I mention that the collection also features hoodies which sell for P1,490 each?
The only thing that made me feel bad about the collection is the absence of a Luke Skywalker and Han Solo design, which for me is a bit confusing because the original movies essentially revolved around these two guys. Nevertheless, I still think UNIQLO did a great job paying homage to one of the most celebrated pop culture icons of our time.
