My lower back is in pain. And the other day, I can’t event lift more than 3 reps on my regular squat weight. It was devastating, I feel so weak and I don’t know why. Coach Richmond told me, that this scenario mostly happen so I don’t need to worry about it. But i do need to check on what I eat. I was told to just maintain the weight that I’m lifting and everything would be fine.
I’ve done three consecutive PR’s (performance record) last week, which he considers unusual.
I was happy and secretly proud about it. I did squats from 90 lbs to 95 without chair support, for the bench press from 115 lbs to 125 lbs and lastly for the Log Press an additional 10 lbs more. I think I over do the dead-lifts trying to do an added 10 lbs more, well I was a bit pressured from my class mate Denver who were lifting way too far from what I can do, thus we did try it. The result, I got an aching back that was worsen when I did the kettle bells a few days ago. That is why even I would love to go to the Foundry today, I can’t. I can’t even bend my back! Arghh! And whenever I sleep, I got difficulty in turning.
Treatment:
According to my PT friend, what I needed to do is to apply a warm compress 3-times a day, each for 20 minutes and whenever ill be sleeping I can also put pillow in my back. It’s the second day of the ache and it’s starting to feel okay. I was also told to do stretching but to not do dead-lifts yet. Thou I can do other exercises away from my back.
Realization:
Now I realize the importance of proper stance and breathing and off course confidence and a little carefulness would not hurt. Hope I could improve faster and to not do mistake again.
