We have been amazed by what ASUS ZenFone Selfie can do. And right after using Selfie for more than a month, I actually felt connected to it already, that It felt quite difficult for me to take it off my hand. Aside from its dimension, capacity and durability, one of the feature that I love the most was the 13mp front camera, which is perfect for Selfies! Check this out:
The Selfie test using ASUS ZenFone Selfie
But a new opportunity just came in and a new phone was handed out to me. Welcome ASUS ZenFone Laser. Now it’s time for you to take the center-stage.
At first look.
ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser comes in different colors but I decided to pick the “Gold” for no other reason because it’s gold, looks expensive (lol). It’s thin and got a nice grip and the ergonomic arc design really serves it’s purpose. It was designed to comfortably fit in my hand and the hairline design got this metallic finish, it does look pretty expensive.
Asus ZenFone 2 Laser features the 5.0-inch HD (720x1280p) IPS display and Corning Glass 4 which offers vibrant colors, good brightness levels and wide viewing angles up to 178 degrees. The 720p display panel works great in rendering text and graphics nearly all usage scenarios. I can even use it under direct sunlight, readability under it is great.
I’m irritated with phones that marks fingerprints whenever in use, it just ruined everything specially when i’m watching movies. Good thing ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser has a 20nm anti-fingerprints layer on the cover glass, that allows me to enjoy sliding and swiping without leaving any fingerprints. By the way for people living in the cold weather, ZenFone 2 Laser also supports glove touch, very usable even when you are wearing gloves. Responsive, no lag feeling whenever I click on the icon and drag it on screen.
It can also distinguish different pattern between water drops/grease and my fingers, so the screen is still responsive and woks normally when the screen is a bit wet which happens a lot during the rainy season.
Accidental dropping or damages? You don’t need to worry the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser’s display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is considered that Laser is the only smartphone with the best screen protection at this price range. Check out this video;
But what makes this unit more different from the Selfie phones?
Well, It’s the first phone in the price range to have a 8-megapixel camera on the back guided with a laser auto-focus. It also has a dual-LED real tone flash and a 5-megapixel camera on the front.
The f/2.0-aperture Toshiba lens manages to focus the subject in a snap and delivers shots with excellent details, saturation and contrast levels in day-light conditions.
But what do the add on laser advantage in taking a snap? The ZenFone 2 Laser’s infrared laser measures distances at lightning speed – and that means near-instant focus as fast as only 0.03 seconds. Fast! Even faster than the top notched iPhone 6 plus.
Accesing the camera acan be as easy as swiping “C”, take a snap instantly without waiting for the focus time. Perfect for capturing unexpected moments. Other features also includes, Low light mode with laser auto focus, take shots in HDR, and you can also do a Panorama Selfie which allows one to take a 140 degree selfie so that everyone can be part of the shot.
And just like what I did from my recent ASUS ZenFone Selfie review, Laser also got Beautification Mode for skin softening, brightening to achieve that #nopores effect.
What I’m wearing: Phone by ASUS, Sweater from Givenchy, Pants by Memo, Shoes from Toms. Hype this in Lookbook. More photos click here
