And to make their brand more personal and appealing to their fans, DC shoes created a global competition that tapped the creativity of their followers which they called The DC Shies South East Asia TRASE YOURS DESIGN competition. The competition called out artists, creators, and designers from each participating country including Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. The grand winners’ design will be chosen from the top 20 designs gathered from the participating regions during the submission process online.
A few days ago, throught #earthlingorgeous, we went over to witness the Philippine entries for this competition. DC Philippines held a light and fun art exhibit last July 29 at A Space in Makati to showcase the top design submissions for the competition.
The highlight of the program was the on the spot judging of the works by a select panel of media and creative Industry pundits. Among the chosen judges were Jowee Alviar, Creative Director and Owner of Team Manila; Marci Reyes of TBWA/SMP Tequilla; Lornel Bihasa, DC Rider and Architecture student from the University of Sto Tomas; Tracy Montinola, Creative director for Marketing Services Department, Primer Group of Companies.
The grand winner took home the bragging rights as the first ever awardee of the DC Shoes design competition as well as Php 35,000 in cash and Php 35,000 worth of gift certificates.
I was impress in how creative the were. I bet the judges had the hardest time making a decision who’ve won the competition. My personal favorites were the Flock and Makahiya.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to finish the event for I got another one schedule right after. Nevertheles, it was a great thing.to.be introduce to the brand. Next project is to own a skateboard shoes.from DC shoes (crossing my fingers). Now I need to ride more and practice to skate! For more information visit http://www.dcshoes.com.ph/trase-yours.
