Matabungkay Beach Hotel holds a prominent status as a renowned resort in the Philippines, boasting a history dating back to the 1980s. Over the years, I’ve encountered numerous accounts, both positive and negative, about this establishment. It was only a few days ago that I finally had the opportunity to visit the place when I received an invitation.
Matabungkay Beach Hotel is located in Lian, Batanggas, that’s around 3-4 hours drive from Manila. It’s one of the few resort/hotel in Batanggas that offers overnight stay for guests during this time of writing.
And on our visit we found out that over the years they have improved in many ways, including with the addition of pools for all ages. (Keep reading to check that one out.)
I felt a bit dizzy on our way there, maybe because of the lack of sleep I’m having for days (that is why I badly needed a break).
The place were mostly wood and is very native. We stayed at the Deluxe Suite on the first day of our stay. The room was a bit gloomy yet inviting. There are only 5 deluxe rooms and we used all of it. I was the third wheel who shared the room with Trice and Seph, lol!
After settling down, we headed at the dining place near the reception area. The resorts Chef have promise that we will be able to taste all the best sellers in our almost 3 days stay, I’m looking forward to that.
On the same day, that night, A pool party was held called the Matabungkay H2O Re-launch. The new pool was having multi-level water with submerge lounge chairs where you can just enjoy a cool drink to #seizethesummer (Ooppss sorry guys, that line!)
We ended the night by the see talking about happy times of life (and blogging).
On the second day, we transferred to one of their beachfront Villa. It’s also one of the newest amenities in Matabungkay. Each Villa can accommodate a whole family; it got two floors, two bedrooms, a living area, a terrace, a garden area and one bathroom. The whole interior was impressive and modern, and very different from the ones we had yesterday.
I got a visitor …
at the 2nd floor window you can have a sight of the newest pool in the resort.
After settling down, its time to explore the place!
You can also set-up a camp, play billiards or do a team building on this place.
Wedding receptions can also be held here. Look at our sample pre-nuptial photo;
Ohh and by the way, better be at the beachfront area before sunset, Batanggas is where you can see one of the best sunset in the Philippines.
The day ends with a chatting over bonfire and watching Gone Girl till 3am.
Last Day in Matabungkay Beach Hotel In Batangas
We planned to leave the beach around 1pm. After having breakfast, we enjoy the rest of our stay exploring the beauty of the place.
Aside from the ones we tried you can also try other amenities like banana boats, Jet Ski’s, basketball and volleyball court, billiards, Videoke and many more. You can do building activities in the place including their famous floating balsa.
Hoping to be back soon! Thank you Matabungkay Beach Resort and Hotel staff and crew for accommodating us. To the Chef who prepared our delicious food! I super love the Bulalo and Leche flan combination. And thanks Jeoff Solas for organizing this and for all the free stuffs along with it!
