iAcademy, Bridging the Graduates and the Industry

As we progress, competition in the corporate world becomes tougher and tougher. The rise of unemployment and the unstoppable growth of graduates make previous job seekers to be left behind.

That is why picking the right course as well as the right school for you when entering college should be given a high importance. You should also take in to consideration the chances of employment, which would be very important to you when you graduate.

iacademy

That is why iAcademy aims to have a high rate of placement and employment rate by having relevant programs, addressing the mismatch between the skills of the graduates and the needs of the industry.

I got a chance to know more about iAcademy through their previous event held at North Court, Rockwell, Power Plant. Tagged as the SHIFT, the two day exhibit aims to showcase the talents of their students by putting up a gallery of digital arts and fashion design.

According to Mr. Ryan Aveledo, iACADEMY’s Multimedia Arts Chairperson, this was the first time they brought the students outside the campus and this is a great way to motivate the students and for them to experience what is it like in the real world.

Mr. Aveledo was very proud of his students; the arts displayed were curated among the best of the best. The students are very involved at the ground.

Here are some of my favourites;

Aside from the art displays, there are also an area provided for other students who on the other hand show their skills in the arts of animation and design.

Students of Fashion Design and Technology also have their part in the gallery. According to Ms. Nicole Aquino, iAcademy Chairperson of Fashion Design, their student’s edge is by having an access to the newest technology and the exposure to both computer aided and traditional fashion design drawing processes.

At the event, students’ from the Fashion Design Department created a plain white gown; uses computer aided designing and projected the design at the gown creating an interchangeable patterns. This could be a great way of mix and matching prints and colors before creating the actual dress.

iAcademy is dedicated to preparing and equipping students for a highly competitive professional world and to addressing the gap between academe and industry. iAcademy offers first class Design, Computing and Business programs specifically geared towards proficiency and work excellence.
