Did you know that even you have a 20/20 vision, you still need to wear eye protection because of the repetitive exposure to blue light which is produce by electronic devices that can cause oxidative damage, and may be responsible for causing age-related macular degeneration, which can result to blindness?

I guess you didn’t know that and You don’t like how it sounds right? This and many other reason is what Essilor, the worlds leader for corrective lenses, is campaigning.

Called as Essilor’sSeeing the World Better’ campaign is the company’s way of helping the world see better by raising   awareness about the importance of healthy vision and address the alarming number of visual impairment cases in the country.

Top celebrity, sportsman and health buff, Piolo Pascual is just perfect for the campaign. Even with 20/20 vision, Piolo believes prevention is the first step towards healthy vision. ”Good eye health is a serious matter because it is essential to performing practically all our daily tasks. Without good vision, we can only do so much and this limitation can stand in the way of achieving our goals.

At the event I got a chance to learn the three important message of the campaign:

  1. Prevention: Essilor lenses help prevent age-related eye diseases,
  2. Protection: it also helps provide everyday protection from ultraviolet (UV rays and harmful blue light
  3. Correction: Promote the initial purpose of Essilor which is to help correct eyesight.

I’ve been a user of the brand for quite sometimes and what I really love about it is aside from Correction (I got grade of 1.25 for the right eye, 1.50 for the left eye), Essilor provides me the convenience of just bringing one eyewear for the whole day because of its transitional lenses capability which adjust itself to whatever shade condition.
