This years 29th DPC-PLDT VISUAL ARTS COMPETITION (VAC 29) focuses on the theme: “Past meets Present.
It has been said that the Philippines exists simultaneously in several time frames— in the ancient past with its centuries-old structures and traditions, in the mid-20th century complete with all the kitsch and pop of those times, and in today’s techie, ultra-fashionable, highly mobile world.
The VAC 29 challenge is to capture that concept of the past and present—whether conflicting or harmonious, amusing or sublime—in images that can inspire fresh ways of seeing our country and our culture.
