It was the first time that I’ll be doing a ‘stay-cation‘ with my Mom, and because she doesn’t want go far away from home, I decided to just tag her along to a nearby place in Ortigas and have an overnight stay at Tune Hotels.

Tune Hotel Ortigas is a part of the international value hotel brand of Tune Hotels in the Philippines, Souteast Asia and other parts of the World. It offers basic and comfortingly affordable 5-star quality accommodation targeting people within the area and nearby places of Ortigas Center in Pasig City. Tune Hotel in Ortigas is a 12-storey building with 182 rooms; of which 126 are double rooms, 52 are twin rooms, and 4 are accessible/handicapped rooms.
Located just along Shaw boulevard, Tune Hotel Ortigas is easy to locate, just two blocks away from EDSA/MRT Shaw Station. Its very accessible either by public or private transportation, or if you don’t like getting stuck in traffic, the place is just 6-8 minutes walk away from Shangri-la Plaza.
Upon arrival, I was already impress on how neat and clean the place is. Its very plain with colors red and white, with some minimalist graphic designs on the walls. The cozy interiors and spacious lobby made me feel like we were checking-in at a mid-class hotel. There are also available computers to use for free if you wanted to browse or check anything online. A showcase of Tune Hotel memorabilia can also be seen displayed at the lobby.
Checking-in was fast and efficient, thou I didn’t felt the usual warm welcome and smile I got from other first class hotel, maybe the receptionist who accommodated me is just tired from the whole days work. The service was quick, I didn’t even have the time to browse on the magazines on the table.
I was given one card key for the elevator and room access, along with it is the Wi-Fi access. My reservation was a double room, inclusive of Wi-Fi and TV use. Did I already said that you can customize your accommodation here in the hotel? Simply pay to what you need, like ordering burgers and fries in a fast-food chain. According to the receptionist, the accommodation I have estimate costs around Php 1,500 to Php 2,000, according to him the prices vary depending on what services you are getting or the numbers of clients they are having for the day.
My room is at the the 11th floor of the building, perfect to give me a nice view of the city-escape in the morning.
INSIDE ROOM 1118
It was straightforward, clean and simple room, with a prominent branding situated almost in every corner of the room. Here are the things found inside the room;

- Fold-able Side Wooden table
- Huge Mirror
- Safe box

- Basic Toiletries: Tissue, Soap and Shampoo
The bed was very comfy and just right for two persons. The bathroom got a nice shower area with hot and cold water, with basic toiletries yet there ain’t free toothpaste and toothbrushes, there ain’t no telephone as well, but there is a centralized phone located near the elevator. The Wi-Fi connection is really fast, I must say.
You can actually see the up-scale yet affordable accommodation when you enter each room. The modern furnishing bring in a more homey feeling.
There is a newly opened restaurant outside the hotel lobby, thou I haven’t got the chance to check it out. If ever you get hungry, don’t you worry for there are commercial centers, nearby fast-food chains, restaurants and convenience store in the area.
If your too lazy to go out you can actually try the food delivery service called Food Panda. I actually tried it, but unfortunately it was a bit late for me to order. So what I did is to run to the nearest Shakey’s outlet and order dinner for me and my mom.
Basic room rate accommodation for 2 costs around Php 1,100 per night (excluding tax and other charges). Check-in time is at 2:00 pm while the check-out is at 11:00 am. Additional charges apply for early check-in and late check-out. Tune Hotel Ortigas also has multi-level parking located on the 2nd to the 4th floor of the building. Again as I said earlier, the best thing about Tune Hotels is that guests may opt to avail some add-on packages, ‘pay-as-you-use’ basis. If you are on budget this could be perfect specially if your a traveler who just want a comfy bed to sleep overnight.
All-in-all, Tune Hotels got a two thumbs up for me. It’s affordable and have that value-for-your-money room rates. It has a very reliable and fast internet connections. Simple, cozy and hip, perfect for traveler and budget seeker individuals. Looking forward to try Tune Hotels in other places soon.
