Yes! Japan’s favorite comfort food is now in Manila! Located at one of the busiest mall in the country, SM Megamall, Eri Curry formally opens its door to Filipinos looking for something new yet oh-so comforting to the taste and appetite on September 10, 2014.
Visiting Eri Curry could be a delight, specially if you have a special memory of Japan, or if not, maybe longing for a trip to Japan would make you even more excited if you tried to visit and have a taste of what Eri Curry could offer.
Now, What is a Japanese Curry?
Japanese curry was introduced by the british who discovered it from Indians in the 19th Century. The Japanese reinvented the curry sauce to suit there taste, having a milder flavour and a thicker sauce. Today, it is one of the most commonly serve dish in every Japanese household and it might be as well be considered as one of the country’s national dishes.
Eri Curry took everything that is Japanese and gave it a twist that will suit the Filipino’s tastes. It contains a medley of spices and that zesty flavor that remains undisclose to date.
Customising your meals could be easy in Four simple steps.
Step 1: Choose your Curry Plate
Katsu Curry plate is easily the bestsellers followed by the thin Sliced beef, Crunchy Squid, Shirmp and Mushroom Curry plates
Step 2: Choose Your Rice Portion
Pinoys undoubtedly love rice and here we make sure to serve you only the best Japanese Rice. choose from 200, 300, or for more serious appetite, 400 grams rice portion.
Step 3: Choose your Spice Level
At Eri Curry, we love spice! Choose from Just Right (a mild almost no hint of spice flavour), Spicy (a sure kick of heat) or go all the way to Level 3, Fiery!
Step 4: Add Toppings
Make it your own! Top your curry plate with more toppings. Choose from crispy chicken, fried squid, or thin sliced pork, or vegetabels like eggplant and asparagus and tomatoes.
For this event, I tried the bestseller, Katsu Curry at level 3 (Fiery!). I just love the Japanese rice and the pork was just tasty and tender, thou the Fiery level of the curry I tried didn’t suffice my expectation, I find it a little less spicy (well maybe because I tasted others that are really SPICY!) Thou I guess you could always asked them to increase it or maybe just add some chilli powder on your curry to satisfy your taste.
Aside from the Curry Choices Eri-Katsu also offers other products like Sakana Warm and Tender which is a maki with sole fish with mayonnaise and Kani Warm and Tender, fried crab sticks topped with teriyaki sauce.
Also included in the menu are Sugoi Maki Spicy, Juicy Hamburger Meal, Crispy chicken meal, and for dessert, thier best-selling Kagigori (shaved iced dessert with vanilla ice cream and azuki beans).
