✪ This ain’t no “Survivor” series or alike, there ain’t no reason to be afraid off. Hence one should plunge in and enjoy the event. But for you to enjoy the Malasimbo festival to the fullest, one should be ready and knowledgeable about the basics you should be needing to survive at the five days Malasimbo Festival.
It was actually my first time to attend this year, and it was a surprise how festive it is being celebrated by the whole town of Puerto Galera. Having known that foreigners will be flocking along the area means a lot of income to this budding businessmen.
Anyway will not talk about how this companies earn on those festivities, but for now will be focusing on you, on your next trip to Puerto Galera, to attend the Malasimbo Festival here are some tips you could use to survive this five day festivities.
1. SECURE YOUR TICKETS AT THE MALASIMBO FESTIVAL
Before going to Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival, first and foremost make sure to secure your tickets to the event. Tickets are sold in different ticket outlets or at their official website and is priced starting from 500 pesos to 6,600 pesos.
2. CONFIRM HOTEL BOOKING AND TRANSPORTATION SCHEDULE
Next thing to do, confirm your booking to the hotel and schedule of your transportation. The organizers are also always welcome to suggest if you needed help for bookings and transportation.
There are various choices in the place but it is better if you could find hotels near the vicinity.
3. CAMPING
If you don’t have hotel bookings and would love to do a more adventurous activity. Why don’t you try camping. Malasimbo Arts and Music Festival is held at a mountain with a flat terrain on top. It’s a camping friendly place so you can bring your own tent, camp materials like flashlights, swiss knifes and of course food and water. And because its away from power outlets, do bring power banks you’ll definitely need one.
Look at that wonderful view.
4. GET THE FESTIVAL SCHEDULES FOR WORKSHOPS AND CONCERTS
Check the event schedule, usually Workshops starts at 12 noon while performances start at 3pm or 6pm and ends 3 o’clock in the morning.
5. LOCATE THE SHUTTLE SERVICE PARKING LOT
Find the parking spaces of the shuttle service. prepare a budget of 100 pesos for your travel going to malasimbo via shuttle services. The last trip of the Shuttle going down is up to the last performances at the venue.
6. LOCATE FIRST AID STATIONS AND COMFORT ROOMS
This is usually one of the first things I usually check, because I always have an upset stomach, I see to it that I know where to go when I needed one. It’s a very important to know specially when you’re on top of the mountain.
There are also food stalls in the area.
7. CHECK THE WEATHER FORECAST FOR PUERTO GALERA
Always remember that whenever you’re travelling, and i’m saying this in general, always do check the weather via news on TV or online or you can just check your iphone apps, its really helpful especially in preparing the right clothes you will be needing on your trip.
8. BRING A JACKET, CARDI OR A SHAWL
When at Malasimbo, dress down and bring your summer clothes. And becuase the venue is at the top of the mountain, expect that it is occasionally cold. That is why it is best to bring an extra jacket, cardi or shawl to keep you warm.
Find a perfect spot! This would be even wonderful if you could enjoy stargazing with someone… (cheesy!)
9. ALLOT 5K TO 10K BUDGET FOR YOUR TRIP
Yup! you will be needing extra money for your stay here which will mostly be spent for food. In the recent event, they have used an RF ID which will be given to you upon your entry. Its reloadable and will be used to all the things you will be buying inside the venue. By the way, its highly recommended for you to try the Kesong Puti and Dabo -Dobo meal.
Yup! That was the RF ID, (sorry for my open mouth reaction)
And remember it is better to bring more than to bring less.
Definitely a must try!
10. ENJOY!
Lastly, if you have prepared everything from number 1 to 9, leave your worries behind and enjoy the place, it has a wonderful scenic view, the venue has great art installations, plus wonderful music lineup. You’ll definitely going to have the best time spent here at Malasimbo Festival.
