I first heard about Macklemore and Ryan Lewis when I’ve saw them win awards at the 2014 Grammy’s for Best New Artist. And after witnessing their performance of the song “Same love“, from then on, after checking the whole album I got hook on their music .
I was excited when I heard that they’ll be coming here in Manila. Solaire and Casino and Resort will be their home for their stay here in Philippines. Luckily, in my continuous pursuit to have a ticket, my friend from Solaire has been so generous enough to gave me tickets for two and have a chance to witness Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis perform in SM Arena. Yehey! Happy Kid! ヅ
I brought along Dene in the concert, who is also a big fan of the band, we came just on time, grab some food, look for our seats and listen to the music of DJ Mars Miranda.
The band came in a bit late, a few minutes before 10pm and opened up with the song “Ten Thousand Hours” and as expected an extravagant show of lights, great performance and crowd going wild.
The band also performed their hits like “Thrift Shop“, “Wings”, “Cowboy Boots”, “can’t Hold Us” and off course the one that made them even popular specially to the LGBT community the song “Same Love”.

The concert ended up a bit late with their finale song “Can’t hold us down“.
I was actually waiting for them to sing some other songs I like in their album but i guess they just picked some songs to play in their set here in Manila. Actually after watching the concert, I even appreciated more some of their songs that i dint like initially.
