In its bid to position the Philippines as an international design destination, the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the export marketing arm of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), gathers top international designers for the Design Talks, a program under the Design Week Philippines scheduled on 18 October 2013 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and at the SMX Convention Center both in Pasay City, Philippines.

The Philippines has always been at the forefront of the Asian design scene for decades. CITEM is dedicated to maintain that image and promote the massive potential of homegrown designers, artisans, and creative minds. Through the Design Week Philippines, we seek to bring people together from different backgrounds and disciplines in a venue that celebrates design and artistry,” said CITEM Executive Director Rosvi C. Gaetos.

In addition, Design Week Philippines will also feature other exciting events such as the Pop-Up Market – featuring works from millennial entrepreneurs ranging from designer toys, animation and games, comic illustrations, crafts, and gourmet food and drink, and the Design Guide, a comprehensive list of 100 design ideas in Metro Manila that aims to spread awareness on the growing design movement of the country.
