socialmediaweekend (2 of 15)

Social media has already become of the most needed tool in our society today. Most people who are looking for something will just confide not into yellow pages but instead google, in searching for long lost friend or looking references to who the hell is the person you are talking too, you can just browse the available profile on Facebook. Or if you’re looking for reviews or other information about a certain place or restaurant you will definitely visit my website (lol!) or other site available online.

Social media has been a very effective tool in spreading information hence improving the services they offer are continuously being developed.

The Social Media Weekend held at Glorietta Activity Center last Saturday was truly interesting. I came very early at the event center as in very early that some of the booths participating in the event was still unattended. But I felt really excited to join this activity, and to meet new people and services available in the market.

One of the notable booths that really amazes me is called the PRTN (PRINT). After the popularity of Photo Booths to Flipbooks now comes a more upgraded form of capturing your moment in a event through the use of Instagram. with the use of hashtags, one can actually print pictures instantly without even connecting it by cables. This is actually perfect for events with attendees who highly uses social media like Instagram. To know about them more Click here.

Undecided where to eat next? Zomato will help you out! Zomato is location aware and suggests the user the best restaurants around your location. You can access thru their website or for easy access download the FREE app on Apple app store or google play. All of Zomato’s features – menus, pictures, reviews are available and supported fully on all mobile apps. Whats good about this app is the added personalization, one can actually contribute and aspire to be a “Food Connoisseur” due to your active reviews and contribution. Its actually like Foursquare and Food Directory combined! Check out the site here.

I didn’t actually finished the event, and didn’t had the time as well to round all the booths in the Event Center. I hope next time i could listen as well to the different speakers and learn more about social media and the responsibility one should have.
