Chucks Deli Home of the SLABWICH is a small American restaurant serving delicious burgers and deli located in Serendra and Eastwood. They offer take out, delivery and catering as well.
On our short and sweet dinner, assisted by the general manager, Ms. Cyrstal, I’ve order and tried one of the choices at the Lunch Bag section. The #4 caught my attention priced at 299 pesos which is a combination of quarter slab, salad, soup and raspberry tea slush.
Choose the type of bread you want which could be either Wheat or White Ciabatta. The Slabwich, which is according to Chucks Deli ‘s very own Dictionary means a massive slab-like sandwich, consisting of two-ten-inch-long tablets of homemade, crunchyly toasted ciabatta with a pile of top-quality ingredients between them, eaten as a hefty meal. Eleven different Slabwich to choose from, and because I’m into spicy, ive asked the staff to suggest and offered me “The Buffy” .
For the soup you can either choose the tomato & basil or the cream of mushroom. I picked the latter. Salads has four different types which includes grilled vegetable, caesar, martin’s buffy and waki.
I was actually asked to take one of the challenge but opted not to and rather enjoy and feast on what ive ordered. Luckily a group of young guys came over and did take the challenge. We were able to see and witness how it was done. The group settled and tried each a whole Slabwich and needed to be finish witihin 5 minutes.. Unlukily none have won, so they ended up paying what they’ve ordered.
It was a feast to my eye when my order have been serve onto my table. I did love the Buffy slabwich, the buffalo chicken was cook very well plus the garlic sauce makes it really juicy with a kick of spiciness. The mix of vegetable makes it more exciting as well to taste. The cream of mushroom has been quite different to me, there is something in there that I dont really like, whilst the ceasar salad that i chose seems to feel any less special as well.
All in all, with the service and a cozy place, plus the tasteful slabwich, it could be great to have a visit and try and explore the long list on thier menu. Take the challenge or just enjoy the dining!
