On our trip to Nueva Ecija to visit Carron Dreampark, Mr. Jed, Tha AVP for sales and Marketing treated us to try and taste a special Halo-Halo we could possibly only taste here in Nueva Ecija. With our hungry stomach, we drove from Carron Dream park in Brgy. Sto. Cristo, San Isidro, a few kilometers going to Cabiao to visit this small speciallty store called Aying‘s.
Aying’s is popular here in Nueva Ecija for their high quality and delicious homemade Pastillas made from Carabao’s milk. Being the home of the The Philippine Carabao Center, Nueva Ecija has became popular to house different carabao milk products and having been the home of the largest buffalo’s in the Philippines. Carabao milking has been a long time bread n’ butter of the locals here in the area.
Aying’s Homemade Pastillas currently offers more than 5 flavors that includes Mocha, the unique Coffee, Cheese and milk, Ube and the others. Flavors can be distinguished by different colors of the packaging. I actually can’t really remember the color coding and the flavors of the pastillas, because when they put in our table, we immediately tasted everything lol!
They are selling a box of 30 for P 150.00 each. Curiously, I peak at their production area (with permission off course) separated by a wooden wall behind the store and found out where the magic is being made.
Aside from pastilles, the main highlight of our travel here is to taste the original mixture of Aying’s Halo-halo. Halo-halo is a popular Filipino dessert that is compose of a mixture of crushed ice and evaporated milk with boiled sweet beans, sago, nata de coco, and other fruits served in a tall glass or a bowl.
The special Halo-Halo is serve for only Php 50.00 per order. But what makes it more special, aside from the creaminess of the carabao milk, instead of putting the usual Leche flan Aying’s replace it with their delicious pastillas in cheese and ube flavour. Yummy indeed!
